Barley's Farm

Barley's Farm is a barn where Barley and Ravenpaw live. It is surrounded with cows, dogs, horses, and sheep.

Barley's Farm

Barley's Farm is of the side of WindClan's territory. Barley is a loner who lives at this barn with his friend, Ravenpaw. Barley's Farm is said to be filled with mice that are "just waiting to drop dead and have you eat them." Two elderly Twolegs live here, and occasionally leave food such as Tuna, or Milk out for the loners that pass by, although they claim to like mice better. Ravenpaw and Barley sleep ontop of a large haystack, and to get water, they climb up onto the roof and drink from the gutter.

Into the Wild

Firepaw, Graypaw, Ravenpaw, Tigerclaw, and Bluestar are journeying back from the Moonstone when Barley appears. He warns them that the Twolegs let their dogs run loose at night, and that they should take a different path to stay safe. However, when they say farewell and walk around the barn, they are attacked by rats. Barley appears just in time to save them, but Tigerclaw thinks he lured them into a trap, and attacks him. Bluestar orders him to stop, but because of the rat bites, it costs her one of her lives. She lies, saying she has more lives than she really does, just as they're leaving the barn. Later when Firepaw and Graypaw are helping Ravenpaw escape, they decide to make him become a loner. Barley's barn is only mentioned, just as Ravenpaw runs for the Twoleg Place, and Firepaw worries if he got there safely.

Fire and Ice

When Fireheart and Graystripe are bringing WindClan home, they stop near Barley's Barn for shelter. Ravenpaw screams "Firepaw!" but Graystripe corrects hom explaining how they recived warrior names. Barley and Ravenpaw are kind to the visitors, and they help the weak cats hunt. Fireheart wakes up in the morning and after they recive a terrifying prophecy, Fireheart wonders where Ravenpaw and Barley went, and suspects they left for their barn in the night.

Forest of Secrets

Though the barn isn't mentioned, near the end of the book, Fireheart reveals that Ravenpaw is still alive and living happily with Barley. Tigerclaw seems shocked by this news, but says nothing.

Rising Storm

Ravenpaw is attacked by Fireheart by mistake. Ravenpaw claims to have seen a small white apprentice, seeming sick and upset. Fireheart discovers this is Cloudpaw, so he goes with Sandstorm and Ravenpaw to search for him. They help him break out of a Twoleg nest, after being chased by dogs past Barley's Barn. Ravenpaw says goodbye, and he's not seen again.

The Darkest Hour

Firestar is returning from the Moonstone with Cinderpelt when they stop by Barley's Barn. Ravenpaw welcomes them in, while Barley is a little less friendly, though he seems happy. They share some mice and Firestar explains how he's the new leader, and how Bluestar died in the dog attack. He also tells Ravenpaw of Tigerstar, the new evil leader of ShadowClan. Ravenpaw says if he needs anything, he's willing to help. The Barn isn't seen again, although Barley and Ravenpaw fight against BloodClan in the woods.

In the New Prophecy Series

Midnight

Ravenpaw appears in the camp in the first few chapters, and later welcomes Brambleclaw, Squirrelpaw, Crowpaw, Stormfur, Feathertail, and Tawnypelt into the barn. They share some mice and fall asleep, while Ravenpaw tells them that the Sun-Drown-Place is real. Barley doesn't speak with the cats, and stumbles further back in the barn because he isn't comfortable in crowded places.

Dawn

The traveling clans past by the barn, and Ravenpaw wishes them luck and says his final farewell.

In the Lost Warrior Series

Warrior's Return

Graystripe meets up with Ravenpaw and Barley when asking where the clans are after hearing of all the destruction. Ravenpaw explains that they've left, and Graystripe and Millie go searching.

In the Ravenpaw's Path Series

Shattered Peace

Ravenpaw and Barley live in the farm and enjoy their life. Some unexpected visitors come by, and explain they need shelter. Willie makes sure his mate, Minty is all right before touring through the barn with Tess, Snapper, and Pounce. Soon, Minty has kits, and she names them Sniff, Cloudy, Snowflake, and Icicle. Barley isn't happy with the visitors, and is scared after he sees Snapper teaching the kits killing blows. When the farm burns down, Ravenpaw and Barley help the dogs escape, and later return to living in the barn. However, Willie and the other rouges are hunting chickens and claim that the barn is theirs now. Later, Ravenpaw nearly dies being attacked by the rouges, but Minty stops them, and all her kits that loved Ravenpaw look scared.
