Scruff introduces Bee and Rook to Nightheart and Frostpaw. Bee teaches Frostpaw how to meditate, often sitting with her alone, providing her prey and reassuring her. After a quarter-moon struggling to relax, Bee suggests that Frostpaw should take a break and play with the other park cats. After another quarter-moon, Frostpaw confides with Bee that she has learned who attempted to kill her. Bee comforts her, reassuring Frostpaw that she is very brave, and Frostpaw insists that it was Bee who taught her to be brave.

Nightheart later asks Bee if he knows how much longer he and Frostpaw will have to stay with the park cats. Bee explains that she does not need to be at the park to meditate, but there is still something else that Frostpaw needs to face before she can leave. Nightheart asks if Bee has ever received strange dreams before, and Bee explains how he has been dreaming of walking on a frozen river with strange cats watching him. Bee and Frostpaw bid farewell when it is time for the Clan cats to return home.
