"That's dreadful! Couldn't you fight them? If you were as fierce as the stories say?"

Graystripe's Vow[]

«Then Graystripe let out a purr of amusement as he spotted Bigteeth and Bugeater striking out with their paws, as if they were fighting in their sleep. Clearly, they'd developed a taste for adventure.»
—Graystripe as he spots Bigteeth and Bugeater sleeping after they rescue the kittypets Graystripe's Vow, page 392
While journeying to the Moonstone and crossing through RiverClan's former territory, Graystripe is confronted by six kittypets who claim to be WarriorClan warriors. Graystripe, confused, asks what they do as warriors, and a black-and-white tom exclaims that they fight while a ginger kittypet explains they hunt during the day and go home to their Twolegs at night. Monkeystar introduces herself as their leader and the others present themselves as Bigteeth, Bugeater, Fireface, Clawwhistle, and Chester. Monkeystar explains that they pretend to be warriors after hearing stories from Smudge about the former Clans, and Graystripe reveals himself as a ThunderClan warrior and friend of Firestar. Bigteeth and the others are pleasantly surprised to meet a real warrior, and Bigteeth asks why the Clans never fought off the Twolegs who invaded their home. Graystripe replies somberly that you really cannot fight Twolegs.
Graystripe agrees to teach them a few hunting techniques, but when he attempts to dismiss himself to go to the Moonstone, Bigteeth and the others ask why he is unable to stay longer. When they ask to join him, Graystripe replies they cannot and bids farewell to Bigteeth and his friends. However, the WarriorClan cats follow him and Graystripe is torn between being annoyed and impressed with their ability to sneak up on him. He allows them to accompany him, and when they come across a Thunderpath, Bigteeth explains nonchalantly they know how to cross them already. Graystripe demonstrates how warriors safely cross a Thunderpath and rolls his eyes when the kittypets thought it was fun. After they meet Fang and enjoy a rabbit, Bigteeth notes how late it is getting and explains he should return home to guard their undefended territory. Bugeater, Fireface, and Chester agree, and they bid farewell to Graystripe, Fang, Monkeystar, and Clawwhistle.
When Graystripe is captured trying to free Fang's friends who are trapped in a Twoleg nest under horrible conditions, Bigteeth and the rest of WarriorClan come to his aid. He and the others help free the sickly kittypets by lifting a piece of wood from the floor and guiding them out. Graystripe thanks them for their help and they seek shelter in the forest from other Twolegs. The next day, Graystripe is amused when he spots Bigteeth and Bugeater twitching in their sleep having developed a taste for adventure. Some of the freed kittypets decide to join WarriorClan, and Graystripe bids them farewell, confident they will be fine. In the comic, Bigteeth and the others greet Petunia after Monkeystar, Lily, Bugeater, and Clawwhistle find her.
