Scourge dies, and the battle against BloodClan ends.Luckily, the worst injuries ShadowClan had gotten were a few scratches.
Blackfoot thinks over what to do, and he feels doubtful if he is good enough to lead ShadowClan.
RiverClan leaves, ignoring ShadowClan to not show any connection to Tigerstar .Firestar warns him to not repeat his mistakes.Runningnose wakes him at morning, and asks if he is ready. Blackfoot replies that he is.He decides that his deputy will be Russetfur , and tells her of his decision.
Runningnose and Blackfoot arrive at Highstones , and he connects with StarClan .
Sagewhisker tells him that for this ceremony , he would relieve his past with each life, and he could tell them to stop at any time.He agrees, and Blizzardwing and Hollyflower step forward. Blackpaw is in the medicine cat den , having eaten a rotten frog prior.
Blizzardwing comes to visit in the middle of the night.
Hollyflower and Blizzardwing argue about whether he should be allowed to visit.
Blackpaw discovers that Blizzardwing is his father.
He is playing games with the other apprentices .
Clawpaw tells them that they cannot become warriors as they are half-Clan .
Blackpaw wants to tell the truth, but decides not to. He talks to Brokenkit about it, who tells him that it doesn't matter what others think.
Brokenkit is surprised that Blackpaw knows who his father was, and wishes that someday he become a greater warrior than his father, to teach that cat a lesson.
Back in the present, Blackfoot reveals that he knew that Blizzardwing was his father.
Blizzardwing gives him a life for acceptance. Raggedstar appears, and they greet each other.Blackfoot enters camp with his patrol cheerfully.
At the edge of camp, Ashheart yowls at Brokenpaw for injuring Deerpaw .
Blackfoot intervenes, reminding the warrior that they cannot harm apprentices.
Brokenpaw calls Ashheart a coward before going off.
Ashheart goes to report to Nightpelt .
Brokenpaw tells Blackfoot that Clanmates were useless if they couldn't do anything.
Raggedpelt thanks Blackfoot for standing up for Brokenpaw.
The two converse, and Blackfoot promises to look out for Brokenpaw.
In the present, Raggedstar gives him a life for trust, telling him that Brokentail had killed him at the end, but trust was important. Badgerfang pads forward, and Blackfoot feels the past taking shape around him.Brokenstar calls for a Clan meeting .
Badgerkit becomes Badgerpaw, and Flintfang becomes the apprentice's mentor .
Fernshade is concerned about this, because Badgerkit is yet still very young.
Later on, they battle a WindClan patrol .
Badgerpaw dies, his final words a request to be named after Flintfang. Badgerfang gifts Blackfoot a life for perspective.
Gray Wing steps forward to grant Blackfoot a life.In the memory, Tallstar and Deadfoot warily appear.
Brokenstar lies smoothly that they wanted peace.
He demands for permission to hunt on WindClan grounds.
Tallstar refuses, and they depart.
Blackfoot and Brokenstar head toward WindClan camp, where Brokenstar attacks Tallstar.
The tom warns that WindClan would die if they didn't leave. Blackfoot insists that they needed the territory to the cats of StarClan.
Gray Wing gives him a life for unity.
Rosetail slowly makes her way toward him.The present fades away, and Blackfoot is going over the plan with his patrol.
They charge, and they fight with ThunderClan .
Blackfoot sneaks into the nursery to kidnap the kits .
He kills Rosetail when she interrupts.
Yellowfang attacks him next, and he flees, thinking that it was all for nothing.Rosetail gives him a life for compassion. Bluestar touches her nose to his, and the vision takes shape.Blackfoot and the other ShadowClan rogues are frustrated that Brokenstar was still prisoner.
Tigerclaw returns, battered but somehow alive.
Blackfoot notes that Fireheart was very fierce.
They both agree that Fireheart had no business in being a warrior.
Tigerclaw tells him that Brokenstar was dead. Bluestar grants him a life for judgment.
Stonefur weaves his way out, reluctant as Rosetail had been.In the memory, Stonefur, Featherpaw , and Stormpaw are at the center of
TigerClan cats.
Tigerclaw orders Stonefur to kill Featherpaw and Stormpaw, and Leopardstar agrees.
Stonefur refuses, and fights with Darkstripe .
The tom fails to kill Stonefur, so Blackfoot finishes it off instead. Stonefur gifts him a life for integrity.
Nightstar appears, and Blackfoot is sucked into the vivid memories.
Blackfoot hunts for sick ShadowClan cats.
As he returns with a vole , he is greeted by Flintfang, Boulder, Nightstar, and Runningnose who express their gratitude.
He gives Fernshade and Wolfstep a frog, and changes moss for the warriors.
Russetfur asks if he would stay in ShadowClan, and he replies that he hoped so. Nightstar grants him a life for loyalty.
Shadowstar steps forward, and warns him that it will not be easy.Blackfoot sees visions of the future that could happened.
Shadowstar tells him that the choices he made would matter, and gifts him a life for leadership.
Shadowstar goes over the traditional words said at the end of the ceremonies, and StarClan chants his new name , Blackstar. End of spoiler warning
