- Branchkit is a WindClan kit born to Oatclaw and Featherpelt alongside his littermates, Grasskit and Leafkit. Harestar announces their recent birth at the Gathering. Frostpaw receives a dream about a tree destroying WindClan's nursery. She attempts to warn WindClan about her vision, though Kestrelflight and the other WindClan warriors are skeptical. He agrees to post extra cats outside the nursery just in case. As the storm rolls in, WindClan evacuates the nursery, though Leafkit is trapped when a tree falls into camp. Branchkit and Grasskit huddle in Featherpelt's belly while their older sister, Whistlepaw, desperately tries to rescue Leafkit. Although Whistlepaw is unsuccessful, Sunbeam has better luck and is able to save the small kit. Afterwards, Leafkit, Branchkit, and Grasskit trot after their mother as they head to Kestrelflight's den.
