- Pebbleshine encounters Bunny on her journey to find SkyClan. Spooked by the dog, Pebbleshine considers making a run for it, but discovers that the dog is blocking her way to safety. Letting out a hiss, Pebbleshine prepares herself to have to fight the dog, but is saved by another cat. Bunny, upon hearing this other cat, stops immediately and sits down on his rump, looking embarrassed. Pebbleshine looks behind her and sees a small black cat, who introduces herself as Bug. She explains that Bunny, the dog, is actually harmless, and that Pebbleshine should not worry about him. Pebbleshine stares in astonishment, and is very surprised by the fact that dogs have names just like cats do.
- Pebbleshine is surprised that Bunny and Bug are friends, and does not trust Bunny as much as Bug does. Bug asks Pebbleshine if she is okay with her letting Bunny get up. Bug notices Pebbleshine's unease, and promises that Bunny will not hurt her. Pebbleshine compares herself and Bug to Bunny, saying that Bunny was big enough to eat both her and Bug in one gulp. Bug nods to Bunny, saying that he can get up, but the black cat encourages Bunny to leave the barn for a while, noticing how uncomfortable Pebbleshine is around him. Bunny lets out a small bark, and leaves the two cats in peace.
- After Pebbleshine wakes up from her slumber, she looks outside and notices Bug and Bunny fighting, and instinctively crouches down and hisses. Before Pebbleshine is able to do anything, however, Bug wriggles free from Bunny's grasp and nuzzles the dog with her head. Bug suddenly jumps onto Bunny's back, and Pebbleshine notices that the two are play-fighting, almost like kits. Soon, Bug spots Pebbleshine and leaves Bunny to go and greet her. Pebbleshine announces that she is leaving, and Bunny trots along behind them as he and Bug accompany Pebbleshine to the Thunderpath.
