Claw is a tom.[1]
In Graystripe's Vow, Claw was a former leader of BloodClan, having taken the role sometime following Scourge's death. He and Fury, a member of the Twolegplace Clan at the time, go in search of food, only for him to be killed supposedly by a dog. Fury, having survived the ordeal, reports his death to BloodClan and assumes leadership as a result.
