"Do we know the real Bramblestar is still there to worry about? Rootpaw says he hasn't seen him since the medicine-cat meeting."
— Conefoot about the fate of Bramblestar's spirit in Veil of Shadows, page 84

Conefoot is a white-and-gray tom.[15]

Conefoot was a ShadowClan warrior under Tigerstar's leadership in the lake territories. He was born as Conekit to Snowbird and Scorchfur alongside his sisters, Frondkit and Gullkit during the reign of the Kin. His family escaped to ThunderClan and eventually returned to ShadowClan, but joined SkyClan when Rowanstar dissolved the Clan. When Tigerstar revived ShadowClan, Conepaw was apprenticed under Tawnypelt, and he later became a warrior as Conefoot. He joined the rebels to take down Bramblestar's impostor, but joined a vigilante attempt to kill him and died in the following skirmish. After his death, Conefoot became a ghost, unable to join StarClan, and his spirit was later trapped in the Dark Forest by Ashfur. Conefoot was forced to fight for Ashfur, but after the dark warrior's death in battle, Conefoot went to StarClan.

History[]

In the A Vision of Shadows arc[]

Shattered Sky[]

Puddleshine delivers Snowbird and Scorchfur's kits, Gullkit, Frondkit, and Conekit. As Violetpaw removes ticks from Ratscar and Oakfur, the elders comment on how some young cats don't seem to understand loyalty, wondering what kind of world Snowbird's kits would grow up in.
He is with his littermates and mother in the Kin's nursery when Scorchfur attempts to convince Darktail to give the RiverClan prisoners some food. Violetpaw wills him not to argue with the rogue leader, thinking that his mate would struggle to feed the kits by herself.
As Violetpaw starts sneaking out cats to ThunderClan's territory, Alderheart reflects on how she had brought out Snowbird and her kits the second time, where they had settled into the ThunderClan nursery. Snowbird and her kits appear at the entrance of the nursery when Bramblestar calls a meeting, beginning with how glad he is to see the ShadowClan cats, and the kits, safe and well. At a later meeting to announce the fight to finally drive out the rogues, both Snowbird and Blossomfall come to the entrance of the nursery, all of their kits frisking around their paws.

River of Fire[]

When Violetshine looks for Yarrowleaf's missing kits, Flaxkit and Hopkit, she peers into the SkyClan nursery and sees Snowbird sleeping with her litter.

In The Broken Code arc[]

The Silent Thaw[]

When Shadowsight is preparing to tell Tigerstar that he had revealed his vision about the codebreakers at the medicine cats' meeting, he spots Conefoot leaving for the dawn patrol with Gullswoop, Snaketooth, and Yarrowleaf.

Veil of Shadows[]

Conefoot attends a secret meeting at SkyClan's old camp in ShadowClan territory to discuss Bramblestar's impostor. When the cats argue about whether the impostor should be killed, Conefoot questions whether Bramblestar's spirit is still around to reclaim his body, as Rootpaw had not seen it for half a moon. At another meeting, Conefoot is surprised to hear that Mothwing and Squirrelflight were successful in faking the former ThunderClan deputy's death and asks them how they managed it.
When Bristlefrost takes the impostor out into the forest, she sees Conefoot among the rebels poised to assassinate him. After the skirmish, she spots his lifeless body alongside Dappletuft and Stemleaf. Tigerstar mentions his fallen warrior when Berrynose arrives in the rebel camp, noting how they had just buried him, and Spotfur lists him among the fallen from the failed ambush. Later at a Gathering, Rootspring spots those who died as ghosts and unable to reach StarClan.

The Place of No Stars[]

Conefoot's spirit is now trapped in the Dark Forest under Ashfur's possession. Rootspring spots his spirit among others trapped on the island. When Rootspring is captured by Ashfur and his army, Conefoot is among the ones cheering for Rootspring and Snowtuft to kill each other.

A Light in the Mist[]

Conefoot watches as Snowtuft battles Rootspring. After Ashfur gives his spirits the order to kill Rootspring, Conefoot snarls at the SkyClan warrior, drawing back his lips. Soon after, Bristlefrost comes to rescue Rootspring, and the yellow tom watches in awe as the pale gray she-cat shoves Conefoot aside. Bristlefrost, Rootspring, and Shadowsight attempt to distract Ashfur long enough for his control on the spirit cats to slip, and Snowtuft urges Conefoot and the others to run. Conefoot is later recaptured by Ashfur's Dark Forest army. While spying on Ashfur and his army, Rootspring notices Conefoot break free of Ashfur's control to snap at Darkstripe, and the SkyClan warrior concludes that strong emotion might be enough to break free from Ashfur's control.
While in the living world, Shadowsight urges his father to send help by insisting that Strikestone and Conefoot's spirits are suffering in the Dark Forest, but his father insists that they are already gone. When Needletail arrives in the Dark Forest to help, Ashfur orders Conefoot and his other spirits to kill her. He participates in the final battle on Ashfur's side, but Conefoot is free from his control after Ashfur's defeat. He goes to StarClan, and Bramblestar honors his name among the others who tried to stop the impostor.

Spotfur's Rebellion[]

Spotfur and Stemleaf lead Conefoot, Kitescratch, and Dappletuft on an assassination attempt against the impostor. The ShadowClan warrior repeats back Spotfur's plan for her and Stemleaf to lead the impostor out of ThunderClan's camp and for the others to attack. As they tread through ThunderClan's territory, they hear Bristlefrost and the impostor alone in the forest. Spotfur urges them to prepare themselves and they attack, with Conefoot and Dappletuft attacking the impostor's flanks. A ThunderClan patrol arrives to help and Conefoot is attacked by Leafshade. At some point Conefoot is killed, and Spotfur mourns his loss.
