"But it would be better if you stayed with us."
— Coriander to Daisy when she decides to return to ThunderClan in Daisy's Kin, chapter 9

Coriander is a dark gray tom[3] with green eyes.[4]

History[]

In The Broken Code arc[]

Darkness Within[]

Bristlefrost reflects how Daisy left to aid Smoky and his new kits, and worries if Daisy plans on leaving ThunderClan, knowing she would feel better if Daisy were around to assist Spotfur's own pregnancy.

In the A Starless Clan arc[]

Thunder[]

Coriander: "I guess now we don't need all the cobweb I collected. And Little Daisy was excited about making Whistlepaw's poultice."
Frostpaw: "You might be able to use them another time. If you get a scratch or bite."
Coriander: "I guess."
—Coriander and Frostpaw about herbs Thunder (book), page 86
Coriander follows his father and sister into the horseplace barn to see Frostpaw. He tells her that they have collected cobwebs for her injury and assures her that they will tell any passing Clan cats that she has not been there. Coriander offers to catch Frostpaw a frog if she does not want the mouse that Whistlepaw brought. After telling Frostpaw to rest, Smoky ushers the kits away.
After Frostpaw is treated by the Twoleg and wakes in the barn, Coriander greets her and notes that she had slept throughout the day. He warns her not to bother her injuries, or else the Twolegs will put a large collar around her neck. When Frostpaw says that she knows not to bother wounds, Coriander tells her a story about the Twolegs putting the collar on Little Daisy and how she could not maneuver properly. He disappointedly remarks that they no longer need the cobwebs or poultice, though Frostpaw points out that they might use them later. When Smoky brings a mouse for Frostpaw to eat, he takes Coriander away.

Wind[]

Sunbeam encounters Smoky on her way to find Berryheart and the rest of her kin, and while explaining why he had a Twoleg help Frostpaw, he mentions that Coriander and Little Daisy had been worried that Whistlepaw would not be able to help. Sunbeam reassures him that Frostpaw is safe with the Clans, and he promises to tell his kits.

In the Novellas[]

Daisy's Kin[]

«Have I made the right decision? Have I valued Smoky's feelings over the kits' survival?»
—Daisy as they decide to take the weakened kits to SkyClan Daisy's Kin, chapter 6
Coriander and Little Daisy are born to Coriander and Smoky. Unfortunately, his mother dies in the process, leaving the kits without milk. They live on pulped prey, but Alderheart and Daisy know that they will die without milk. They try to convince Smoky to take them to the Twolegs, but Smoky wants to keep his promise to Coriander. After the kits' situation gets dire, Smoky proceeds to take Alderheart and Daisy's advice. Smoky tells them that a queen by the name of Coco had kits recently and might have some milk, but the journey to find the kittypet turns out to be unsuccessful. They decide to take the kits to SkyClan after Alderheart tells Smoky that a SkyClan queen had recently given birth, stopping briefly in ThunderClan so the kits can gain some strength. On the way to SkyClan, the Sisters intercept the travelers, saving them from a hawk. Snow tells Daisy that the Clans are unpredictable, and that Sunshine has milk for the kits.
Sunshine nurses the kits until they are weaned, while Alderheart comes to check on them every few days. Meanwhile, Smoky names the she-kit Daisy, and the tom-kit Coriander. Smoky and Daisy take Coriander and Little Daisy back to the horseplace. While staying there, Daisy's Clanmates come visit the kits. Sorrelstripe comments that Coriander and Little Daisy had grown so much, while Coriander introduces himself. Daisy makes the decision to leave the horseplace and return to ThunderClan. When breaking the news to the kits, Coriander and Little Daisy protest, but understand that Daisy must do it, so they make sure she remembers to visit them. Daisy tells them of Mousewhisker being their brother, leaving them on edge.
