Chapter description[]

Leafpaw shakes water droplets off her whiskers, noting that they have passed the mountains. She observes that Tallstar is no longer leaning on Onewhisker's side and is walking confidently on his own. As Onewhisker heads after a rabbit, Leafpaw believes that the heather has given WindClan spirit. She is also surprised to see Dustpelt talking to Russetfur, as it is unlike the dark brown tom to talk to the other Clans.
Leafpaw knows that there will always be four Clans, but is shocked to see every Clan mingled with each other. Sorreltail says she'd rather be here, for there is the smell of prey and no monsters. Onewhisker comes back with the rabbit, and Leafpaw wonders if this is truly meant to be their home. Later, Leafpaw asks Cinderpelt if everything's okay, and her mentor informs her that Firestar wants to move on.
Birchkit squeals that he wants to stay, but Brambleclaw states that they can't stop until StarClan gives a sign. Some begin arguing over whether to stay or go, and Brambleclaw asks Cinderpelt if she received something, and she explains that Leafpaw did. The latter than says that she saw a huge stretch of water that had StarClan reflected in them, and Spottedleaf was present. Hopeful, Tallstar asks if they should try finding that, but Leafpaw isn't certain that her dream is real.
Leafpaw is sure StarClan would have sent her something else, and the Clans continue walking on a grassy ridge. Leafpaw glances up, and Firestar surprises her, telling her not to worry about the sign. He says he is proud, despite Cinderpelt's fire and tiger prophecy. Blinking, her father continues, saying that he thought Squirrelpaw and Brambleclaw were going to destroy them, but not in the way he originally thought. He concludes by saying that their courage helped to save the Clans.
Firestar catches up with Sandstorm, and Sorreltail rejoins Leafpaw, complaining about her hunger, but saying that there is good hunting around the beech trees. Squirrelpaw joins them, hoping for a sign, before saying that Brambleclaw hasn't spoken much today. Leafpaw is unsure of what the sign will be, and continues climbing up the ridge with the Clan cats. She feels the tension as she reaches the top, hoping Spottedleaf's dream is true.
Leafpaw feels the breeze and finds the ground sloping away to a vast expanse of water, with the stars of Silverpelt reflected in it. Leafpaw's heart fills with joy and faith, knowing that this is the home the Clans were supposed to find.
