|"It was Dovestar of RiverClan who wanted to make it law that every Clan cat had to acknowledge that StarClan controlled Clan life; to deny the existence and power of the warrior ancestors would be to break the code. Does it surprise you that this is not one of our laws?"|
|— Leafpool about the suggested law in Code of the Clans, page 155|
In Code of the Clans, Dovestar is said to have proposed an addition to the warrior code that said that all cats had to accept the existence of StarClan, and to do otherwise would be to break the code. Although common sense, Leafpool asks the reader if it surprises them that it's not a part of the code.
Leafpool says that the Clan cats are allowed to think for themselves, and that they may choose to leave if they please. She goes on to say that forcing cats to believe against their will would be far worse than being honest.
