"Squirrelflight glanced at the ginger she-cat, surprised that a young warrior should already be so rooted in Clan traditions." |
— Squirrelflight's opinion on Eaglewing in Squirrelflight's Hope, page 6 |
Eaglewing is a ginger she-cat.[5]
Eaglewing is a ThunderClan warrior who has served under Bramblestar's, the impostor's, Lionblaze's, Graystripe's, and Squirrelstar's leaderships in the lake territories. She was born to Blossomfall and Thornclaw as Eaglekit along with her siblings Shellkit, Stemkit, and Plumkit. She was apprenticed to Ambermoon as Eaglepaw and earned her warrior name, Eaglewing. She later became a mentor to Myrtlebloom.
History[]
In the A Vision of Shadows arc[]
Shattered Sky[]
- After Leafpool and Alderheart spend half the night assisting the delivery, Eaglekit, Plumkit, Stemkit, and Shellkit are born to Blossomfall and Thornclaw. The day after their birth, Briarlight begs to be told more about them. Leafpool comments that it's great to see new life and the birth of the kits brings her hope. Briarlight asks if their eyes are open yet and Alderheart replies that they won't be for a few days, but all the kits are healthy and strong.
- Briarlight tests herself to on their names, remarking on how beautiful they are, and is certain that the kits are beautiful too. She expresses her impatience to see the kits, and Leafpool recalls that Thornclaw was very anxious at the arrival of his first litter. During a Clan meeting, Thornclaw asks what would happen to Eaglekit and her siblings if Darktail's group attacked. When Snowbird's kits, Gullkit, Frondkit, and Conekit, move into ThunderClan's nursery, Eaglekit and her siblings play with them.
Darkest Night[]
- When Blossomfall speaks with Tinycloud about her unborn kits, Eaglekit scrambles over her mother, with Stemkit following. Both kits hurtle after Shellkit and Plumkit and dart between cats, squealing. Their mother meows that once Tinycloud's kits are born, there won't be any peace for her.
- She and her siblings later play with the elders. Plumkit demands that their grandfather, Graystripe give her a badger ride, and Stemkit chimes in. Eaglekit and Shellkit both join in, all demanding badger rides. Millie purrs that there's enough room for all of them, taking each of the kits and plopping them on the gray tom. He staggers and cries that they weigh more than owls, and the kits squeal with delight as Graystripe swings one way, then the other. The elder puffs that he can't carry the kits, and his mate replies that he can; he's still the strongest cat in ThunderClan.
- When Willowshine visits ThunderClan's camp, Eaglekit and her littermates are playing. The she-kit hooks a moss ball away from her littermate, letting out a delighted mew. Later, Thornclaw reports to Leafpool that his kits are doing well, and that Eaglekit and Shellkit are determined to climb the Highledge so they can explore Bramblestar's den. When a rockslide occurs in ThunderClan's camp, every cat is ordered to evacuate to the lakeshore. Thornclaw exits camp, carrying Eaglekit in his jaws. The kits makes it safely out of danger, and as Alderheart dozes, he can hear the litter squeaking excitedly.
River of Fire[]
- Blossomfall tells Briarlight that her and Cinderheart's kits can help with her exercises; Eaglekit excitedly mews that they will, and Flykit promises her they'll be good at it. The nursery roof is damaged from heavy rainfall, and the occupants are forced to move to the elder's den. Alderheart says that Graystripe and Millie will be delighted to have kits to look after, and Stemkit bounces to his paws, asking if their grandfather will tell them a story. Eaglekit excitedly agrees, and claims she wants to hear about Firestar and the old forest. Blossomfall tells her kits that they certainly will not, as they need rest, and so does Graystripe. Blossomfall, Cinderheart, and Alderheart take each of Cinderheart's litter to move to the elder's den, while Eaglekit and her siblings happily patter alongside them.
- At a Gathering, Bramblestar announces that Eaglepaw and her littermates have become apprentices, with Eaglepaw being mentored by Ambermoon. After Briarlight's death, Blossomfall expresses her hope that Eaglepaw and her siblings will inherit their aunt's courage and optimism. Later, Twigpaw informs Velvet that she can make her nest in the apprentices' den with Eaglepaw and her littermates.
The Raging Storm[]
- "Plumpaw and Eaglepaw think SkyClan should have stayed. So do Dapplepaw and Harepaw in RiverClan. It's only the leaders who want them gone."
- ―Flypaw about the apprentices' opinion on SkyClan 'The Raging Storm, chapter 17

Bristlepaw rescues the SkyClan apprentice, Rootpaw, from drowning, Eaglewing runs ahead to warn Alderheart and Jayfeather of their incoming patient.

When Nightheart says that he wants to rejoin ThunderClan, Eaglewing says that Bramblestar has to know. Eaglewing takes him to the camp, and murmurs that he should ignore Cherryfall's teasing. She says that it is brave of him to come back. Nightheart answers that Cherryfall was right when she said he failed his last task. The she-cat is surprised but mews that she always thought there was more to him that what the Clan saw, and he now has the chance to show them.
Star[]
- To prepare for the onset of leaf-bare, Eaglewing goes on a morning hunting patrol with Nightheart, Wafflepaw, Flipclaw, and Myrtlebloom. Eager to feed the Clan, she risks climbing the tall chestnut tree beside the deserted Twoleg nest to break into a squirrel's nest. She drops her squirrel on the fresh-kill pile and Nightheart advises her to see Jayfeather about her paw, which she spiked on a chestnut husk. Eaglewing replies that it is just a scratch, but Nightheart insists. The ginger she-cat eyes the medicine den warily and only agrees after Nightheart suggests Alderheart will be less likely to scold her. Afterward, Poppyfrost compliments the prey Nightheart's patrol caught and he notes Eaglewing's contribution.

She and her sister are hesitant about crossing the stream to mark the border, much to Squirrelflight's shock. When they finally cross, Eaglewing can't detect any of WindClan's markers either.
