In The Broken Code arc

A Light in the Mist

When Firestar, possessing Rootspring's body, asks for proof that Silverhawk will help them defeat Ashfur, Silverhawk swears on Emberdawn's spirit, explaining that she was his mate who had died. Firestar briefly thinks to himself that he has not heard about Emberdawn in StarClan, and guesses that she is not in the Dark Forest either. Firestar wonders if Silverhawk's mate had anything to do with him being in the Dark Forest. Later, Silverhawk confesses how his son used to be a Clan deputy, and that Silverhawk had attempted to kill their leader so his son could succeed him. However, this resulted in both Silverhawk and his son being killed.

• Both this character and the other Emberdawn, are named after Embers of a Winter Dawn (Emberdawn), a user on Kate's BlogClan. Kate explained through a private message that she inserted Emberdawn's name twice because she was afraid the editing team would remove her cameo, but to her delight, they didn't.
