Erica Sussman is an editor of the New York Times bestselling Warriors books, written by Kate Cary, Cherith Baldry, and Tui Sutherland under the pen name Erin Hunter. She is also the executive editor at HarperCollins Children's Books.
- Erica is an editor at HarperCollins Children’s Books, where she acquires and edits tween and teen novels. She is the editor of the Warriors series by Erin Hunter and works with Aprilynne Pike, the nationally bestselling author of Wings. Her works include editing books by Joseph Bruchac, Jill Kargman, and Carrie Karasyov, and series including Magic Pony Carousel by Poppy Shire and My Sister the Vampire by Sienna Mercer. She is also involved with the Little House program. Erica is interested in middle grade, young adult, and fantasy books. Erica taught in a private school in Brooklyn, and her best friend advised she take a job in children's publishing, as Erica wasn't favoring her teaching job. When Erica left the interview, she knew that this would be the best career for her. Erica is one of those people who does not correct everyone's grammar. She also adds that she will know right away if she likes a manuscript. Erica tells the interviewer that the Baby-Sitters Club books were what caused her love of reading. She wrote her college essay on how much she loved the series. She also is a big fan of the Harry Potter series. In her free time, Erica likes to cook, and she likes to play with her dog and walk her. She also loves to watch TV. Erica is a Jets fan and enjoys the aspect of author-editor relationship through editing.
