"The Three have come at last. I will sleep a little easier from now on. Just be careful-your powers set you apart from other cats, but you are still members of this Clan. You are still bound by the warrior code, for as long as that stands." |

Chapter description[]
- Firestar starts to state that he was given a prophecy, but is interrupted by Jayfeather who tells the leader that they already know of the prophecy. He repeats the prophecy, shocking the flame-colored tom, who explains that he has been waiting a long time. The blind tabby tom asks what it means, but Firestar echoes the medicine cat, causing the blind tabby to wonder if the ThunderClan leader even knew what it meant. Dovepaw interrupts his thoughts, asking if Firestar thought it could be Squirrelflight or Leafpool. He explains that he thought it was his daughters and Cloudtail, but then Jayfeather, Lionblaze, and Hollyleaf. He then changes the topic, asking the medicine cat how long he had known the prophecy existed for.
- Jayfeather slowly states that Lionblaze and him had known since their apprentice days. After more discussion, the cats realize that nobody knows what the prophecy means. The ThunderClan leader turns to Dovepaw, asking her about her exact power. The she-cat hesitantly explains how she can see, hear, and catch portions of things as they happen all around her, even things further away from her. Then Firestar notes aloud that he is more relaxed now, but reminds them that they are still bound by the warrior code, and should behave as a normal ThunderClan cat.
- The Three exit Firestar's den, with Lionblaze asking why he had never said anything about the topic before. Jayfeather suggests that he must have waited until he knew he was right, but Dovepaw interrupts that she gave them away because of the incident with WindClan. The two toms comfort the young she-cat, reminding her that it might be good that Firestar knows. Sensing the tiredness in Dovepaw's paws, Lionblaze caters the apprentice to her den, while the blind medicine cat stays out longer to think.
- While noting that nobody knows what the prophecy means, Jayfeather mistakenly wanders over ShadowClan territory. He realizes this after Tigerheart pounces on him. Tawnypelt's son questions why Jayfeather is on their land, offering to take him to Blackstar. The tabby tom avoids answering, questioning why ShadowClan would send a lone patrol at night. Tigerheart counters Jayfeather with a question asking why he was wandering around close to the ShadowClan border. The ThunderClan cat snaps back, stating that the ShadowClan warrior should go to his nest for training the next day. Tigerheart does this, surprising the ThunderClan tom.
