Fennelstar appears at a Gathering during leaf-bare when Morningstar of ThunderClan proposes that all the Clans should share prey together to make it through the harsh season. Fennelstar opposes this decision, and agrees with the other three leaders that StarClan has given them their territories according to their skills, and that they must continue surviving that way. They tell Morningstar he shames his ancestors if he cannot feed his Clan within ThunderClan's borders.
