Finch is part of the Cats of the Park, a group of peaceful cats without a formal leader. Finch was born sometime after Twolegs destroyed their park home. Her father was Owl. When Slash took over, Arc sought help, returning with Riverstar and Drizzle. Finch, Stoat, and Squirrel were eager to reunite with Arc, though Finch was wary of Riverstar. She proved to be a gifted fighter. When Slash takes Owl hostage, Finch yowls for the rogue leader to let go of her father and hurls forward to grab him, causing Slash to fall down the waterfall.

Who are Finch Song's kits, and where do they live?

Finch Song had two litters of kits. With an unnamed tom, Finch had a litter of kits. After her mate died, Finch's kits became kittypets in the nearby Twolegplace, and Finch frequently visited them while she stayed with the Cats of the Park. With Riverstar, Finch Song had Arc Shadow, Dusk Smoke, and Ripple Shine. They currently reside in StarClan.

Why did Finch join RiverClan?

Riverstar and Finch became mates when he and Drizzle journeyed from RiverClan to save the Cats of the Park from Slash and his rogues. When Drizzle finally convinces Riverstar to return back to RiverClan, Finch reveals she is expecting his kits. She initially decides to stay with the park cats to be close to her older kits. However, she eventually decides to join Drizzle and Riverstar on their journey back to RiverClan, not wanting her unborn litter to grow up without knowing their father.

Her mate had died, and the kits had gone to live as kittypets. That experience had given her a self-assurance that impressed Riverstar. And her sharpness and determination reminded him of the mountain cats. It made him nervous when he was with her, but, as with the mountain cats, he still found himself drawn to it."

Finch is a member of the Cats of the Park and her father is Owl. She previously had a mate who died, and their kits live as kittypets nearby. When Slash and his group take over the Cats of the Park, Arc leaves to find help. He brings back Riverstar and Drizzle, and Finch, Stoat, and Squirrel are eager to reunite with Arc. Finch is initially suspicious and distrustful of Riverstar, though she is eager to learn how to fight to save her parkmates. She turns out to be a natural at learning how to fight after two days of training with Riverstar and Drizzle. Riverstar, Finch, Drizzle, Arc, and the other park cats confront Slash and his rogues in battle. Despite their best attempts, the park cats are quickly beaten, though Finch remains defiant. When Slash takes Owl hostage, Finch yowls for the rogue leader to let go of her father and hurls forward to grab him, causing Slash to fall down the waterfall.

Half a moon later, Riverstar teaches Finch how to swim and catch fish, though she's dissatisfied by the taste of fish. Riverstar finds himself drawing closer to her with each passing day, and he delays his return to RiverClan. A moon later, he and Finch become mates, and Drizzle confronts Riverstar about returning to RiverClan if Finch does not wish to accompany them. He brushes her concerns to the side while he and Finch scavenge in the nearby Twolegplace, though they nearly get captured by Twolegs. After, Riverstar asks Finch to come with him to RiverClan, but the black she-cat is hesitant to leave her parkmates and family. A few days later, Drizzle finally convinces Riverstar to leave, but Finch reveals she is expecting their kits. Knowing he must return to RiverClan, Riverstar apologizes for leaving her and promises to visit. The next morning, Riverstar and Finch bid farewell as he and Drizzle set out on their log raft to travel downriver, but Finch changes her mind and jumps into the river to join them. As the days pass, Drizzle teaches Finch about Clan life and the warrior code. Their raft hits rapids, and the three cats are swept into the water. Finch rescues Drizzle from the river. They travel on foot for the rest of the way, fighting off a fox and encountering a WindClan patrol as they near Clan territory. Finch grows uneasy about the possibilities of her kits fighting in future battles, but Riverstar assures her that he will protect them.

As they near RiverClan territory, Finch believes the kits are coming, and Riverstar orders Drizzle to fetch Dappled Pelt. Fortunately, the medicine cat insists that it was just Finch's body telling her to rest after the long journey. Finch is welcomed into RiverClan, and she is put into their newly built nursery. The night after the Gathering, Finch gives birth to their kits: Arc Shadow, Ripple Shine, and Dusk Smoke. After they are born, Finch resolves to become a warrior and earn her full name, and Riverstar agrees, but only after the kits are weaned. Four days later, Finch helps Dappled Pelt to gather herbs to prepare for the upcoming battle with SkyClan.
