"By the time you've finished shredding me, we'll both have missed breakfast."
— Fleck to Crookedkit in Crookedstar's Promise, page 82

Fleck is a plump ginger tom with a white belly and thick, soft fur.[4]

History[]

In the Super Editions[]

Crookedstar's Promise[]

"Don't they think you're at the Mewstone?"
―Fleck asking about the "Mewstone" Crookedstar's Promise, page 85
When Fleck attacks Crookedkit while he's on the way to the Moonstone, Crookedkit attempts to fight back, but the fight is short-lived. Crookedkit thinks to himself, commenting that Fleck is plump. Fleck teases the kit with good nature and informs him that if they keep fighting, they will both have missed breakfast. Crookedkit thinks he uses a lot of strange words. He tells Crookedkit about a cat who had lived on the farm named Domino who died of old age and that he had a broken jaw just like Crookedkit. He had seen how Domino would've hunted and ate, and taught Crookedkit how to copy it, which made eating much easier and not as painful for him.
Fleck introduces Crookedkit to his sister Mitzi and her four kits: Soot, Magpie, Piper, and Mist. He and Crookedkit help care for Mitzi and her kits during Crookedkit's stay with them. Fleck is shown to become very fond of his new friend, and Crookedkit does not seem to get offended when Fleck calls him impatient. When the monster comes, he takes Magpie to the ditch. Soot comes up missing, and the young Crookedkit goes to save her. When he does, Fleck shows genuine concern for his friend, grunting that he could have easily been killed. When Crookedkit must leave, Fleck is upset and struggles to understand why, as he has adapted to farm life well, but lets the young Clan cat go home anyway. Crookedkit decided to leave since the incident with the monster reminded him of how his Clanmates need him.
When Crookedpaw visits the Moonstone with the others, he meets Soot, who informs him that Fleck and the others are doing fine. Crookedstar often thinks of Fleck and the other barn cats, and is very fond of the time they spent together.

In the Field Guides[]

The Ultimate Guide[]

Fleck is alluded to on Crookedstar’s page, during a recap of his kithood. Crookedkit left RiverClan and lived with a family of farm cats for a brief period of time. Throughout his time there, he soon realized that he was still a Clan cat by heart, and returned to his Clan, but never forgot about his friends at the barn.
