Forums: Index > Project Operations > Project Character Art > Featured Charart Vote 2

This is the second vote for the Featured Charart discussion that was held on the Project Charart talk page. After the first vote not passing, another discussion was taken to the Project Charart talk page to discuss further on the topic of having featured chararts. As the basic guidelines have been discussed, this vote has been made to confirm these guidelines.

Basic information of the idea of featured chararts may be reviewed here.

  • Each month, a charart will be voted on by the members of Project Charart on Warriors Wiki:Charart/Featured Charart/Voting. The charart with the most votes when the voting comes to an end will be featured on the project page below the project news section.
    • Should a tie happen; the charart that was nominated first will be chosen as the featured charart and the other charart/s be delegated to voting for the next month
  • A user may nominate his/her own art or nominate another person's art as long that other person accepts the nomination.
    • Once a user's art has been featured, their art may not be featured or nominated the next two months.
    • Only original art may be featured; and only may canon art be featured.
    • Occasionally, there shall be themes that the art nominated should follow. Example: "Neatest Shading", "Apprentice Art" (PCA apprentices), ect.
      • The word "Best" may not be used in any theme.
    • Every month, a different rank will have their chararts nominated and featured. Example: One month, apprentice art (if the theme is Apprentice Art) will be nominated and featured, and the next month, another rank's art will be featured.
  • A user may vote on nominated art using {{voteyay}}. There will not be any votes against.
    • If there is a theme for the month voting, it is advised that you vote which piece of art best fits the theme.
    • Users may only vote for one charart each month. Should a user vote for more, all of their votes will be struck.
    • A reason must be provided for voting for a nominated charart otherwise the vote will risk being struck.
    • Should the use of a negative vote appear, that user may not vote for the next three rounds.
  • There will be two users as guides in this activity. These guides will create the themes for the months, put up the chararts that are voted on, overlook the striking of votes, and other problems that may arise. Currently, the two chosen guides are: DJCandyBud and Loonie.

Should there be any drama in this activity, this part of the project will risk being cut from PCA. There should not be any rude comments towards another's art; or the vote will be struck.

Please place your votes in the appropriate section and comments may be left on the 'comments' section. Voting will end on June 14th.  Stoneclaw    23:23, June 7, 2012 (UTC)

Put in place the features[]

  1. I'm still not too happy about this; but I have to agree with what Atelda pointed out on the talk page; that having featured chararts is basically like having FA's...  Stoneclaw    23:23, June 7, 2012 (UTC)
  2. I would like to try it out while still having that option of closing it. I believe it will benefit the project as I have said when arguing my point. PCA is just as important as the other projects because it contributes more accurate information to the articles. I believe that we have figured out how to manage snark and this can be beneficial to PCA as a fun activity. Atelda insert vague subtext here 00:39, June 8, 2012 (UTC)
  3. Atelda did mention some good points in the discussion, as well as everyone elses. Now with the guidelines all fixed, this should run smoother. And if worst comes to worst, we can just put this to an end. But this is ment to be a fun activity, and with the rules strict against snarky-like comments, it should hopefully be fine. ~DJCandyFun~ I do enjoy fun...8D 07:00, 08, 06, 2012
  4. Now that we have everything figured out, it should be good.--.Boos Dinosaurs on a Spaceship! 21:12, June 9, 2012 (UTC)
  5. I agree with all reasons stated above. ChanCharm 07:52, June 10, 2012 (UTC)
  6. Why not just try it out? If anything happens at all, there's always a way to shut it down. I don't know why everyone's against this. It seems like fun. oblivionAudience? 18:07, June 10, 2012 (UTC)
  7. Hope I'm not too late... But I agree with loonie. We should at least try it. If it doesn't work out, we can just get rid of it again. We won't know if this could work out or not if we don't give it a chance. Mistypebble 20:01, June 14, 2012 (UTC)
  8. Oh, it's worth a shot. We can see how it works out and then review it again later when we see how the project handles it. Breezewhisker 20:20, June 14, 2012 (UTC)

Do not put in place the features[]

  1. Still against it, because it shows favoritism, and gives even more unwanted attention to the project. PCA isn't the main focus of the wiki; it's the other content projects that matter the most. Plus, as good of an idea this is, I really don't want to start arguments between members over whose work is better, whose sucks, ect. Jayce(23:27,6/7/2012)
  2. Agreeing with Cloudy above. I've had my fair share of having insults at my chararts directed at, and I believe this will only make it worse. I don't want anyone feeling like their work is bad, and others are beautiful. Appledash the light of honor 23:30, June 7, 2012 (UTC)
  3. I am so sorry, but I was thinking about this while playing basketball, and I now have to change my vote. I know my strengths with my feelings. In my opinion, this doesn't benefit the project and as Skye said, shows favortism. I believe that drama will be started, and feelings will get hurt, so I have to vote no. :/ RowanOnly One Can Judge... 01:53, June 8, 2012 (UTC)
  4. I said in the discussion we could give this a try..... but I can't honestly say I support. So I'll go ahead and vote against. Agreeing with Cloudy and Icy, my opinion hasn't changed.

  1. I'm going to change my vote. Honestly, it will be about the person, who they are and who they are friends with, and not the charart. It would cause drama, and PCA doesn't need anymore of that. Silverhmm 11:57, June 11, 2012 (UTC)
  2. I agree with Skye and Icy. It would cause unneeded drama. And everytime there is drama, there is a fight, and everytime there is a fight, well...it gets awkward. To avoid all that, I'm saying no. Maple♥poolMischief brewing Sirius lover 19:57, June 12, 2012 (UTC)
  3. Agreeing with Cloudy. If users never got there's featured they would be upset and it would cause new users to feel leftout. It also might become a popularity contest. WildfireMistystar's Omen! 23:49, June 12, 2012 (UTC)
  4. Agreeing with everything that was stated. --Leafstrike-- 19:46, June 14, 2012 (UTC)
  5. I don't really like the idea of this Iveh Yo! 20:11, June 14, 2012 (UTC)
  6. I'm going to change my vote. Most reasons have already been stated - it'll just cause unneeded drama, and like Skye said, it would show favoritism. Dazzy 10:49, June 15, 2012 (UTC)
  7. Narr. This will more than likely bring unneeded drama owo Berry Midnight Monster's Parade! 11:11, June 15, 2012 (UTC)

Comments[]

It's just my opinion, but why can't we just try it out? If people didn't try things out, think about how the world would be. Inventors would have no desire to try things, and there would literally be almost nothing on Earth to help us humans except natural resources...  Stoneclaw    14:08, June 15, 2012 (UTC)
Also, about drama, well Featured Chararts aren't much different than FAs. What? None of the articles that I've achieved to silver status have been featured. But so what? I'm not offended. I admit that I'm not good with writing, and I'm not going to go to the content projects and complain about it. And yeah, those are FAs. But we don't get drama from them. It's just my opinion, but it's not what ideas cause drama in the project; it's how we handle the ideas, situations, ect. {maybe not, but that's what I think}. x3  Stoneclaw    14:23, June 15, 2012 (UTC)

Conclusion[]

With the majority of the votes against, there will be no featured charart program for now. ~DJCandyFun~ I do enjoy fun...8D 06:05, 16, 06, 2012
