Crookedstar's Promise

Grasskit and her sister, Vixenkit, are born to Sunfish and Beetlenose. Their father proudly spends every moment he can visiting the nursery, so he could see his mate, Sunfish, and his kits. After Willowbreeze, Minnowkit, and Willowkit die, Silverkit moves into Sunfish's nest with Grasskit and Vixenkit. Vixenkit later complains to Sunfish that Silverkit won't let her in the nest, and Silverkit replies to this by commenting that she's only trying to make Grasskit and Vixenkit grow up faster, since she's bigger than the two.

Leopardstar's Honor

Grasswhisker is now a warrior along with her sister Vixenleap and adopted sister Silverstream. Her parents have another litter consisting of Whitekit. While hunting with Sunfish, Leopardfur remarks how Grasswhisker, Vixenleap, and Silverstream had grown into fine warriors, though Sunfish insists they grew up together while Whitekit is all alone. During Whitekit's apprentice ceremony, Grasswhisker and the rest of her family watch on proudly. When Sunfish is gravely injured, Mudfur sends Beetlenose to reassure his kits to get him out of the medicine cat's den. Grasswhisker, Vixenleap, and Whitepaw continue to check in on Sunfish frequently, though Sunfish eventually dies from her wounds.

When Whitepaw struggles to refocus on his training following Sunfish's death, Leopardfur sends him off to spend time with his sisters. Grasswhisker washes Whitepaw's ears while he chews on a trout. Beetlenose calls to Grasswhisker to go on a hunting patrol with him including Vixenleap, Grasswhisker, and Petaldust. Grasswhisker, Blackclaw, and Shimmerpelt emerge from the warriors' den to hear about Frogleap's death.
