"And what about water? The Tribe cats had a whole waterfall! But here there's barely enough to drink. A few hawks won't solve that."

StormClan's Folly[]

Harewhisker is a WindClan warrior. He joins StormClan when his leader Galestar merges WindClan with ThunderClan. He participates in StormClan's journey to find a new home outside of the forest. In leaf-bare, Harewhisker and Peaktail share tongues while StormClan rests in the abanonded Twoleg nest. While staying in the marshes, Galestar takes a hunting patrol with Harewhisker and Mudsplash. Harewhisker and Mudsplash abruptly collapse and fall ill. Two days later, a strange creature attacks their camp, and Harewhisker and Mudsplash are defenseless to protect themselves. It injures Mudsplash, and StormClan begins to leave the swamp after they defeat the creature.
Harewhisker and Mudsplash struggle with the brisk pace and need to rest frequently. Galestar orders Tinyclaw to gather herbs for the medicine cats, though Goldenleaf is skeptical if the unidentified herbs would be useful. Mudsplash succumbs to his wounds, though Harewhisker recovers. StormClan finally leaves the marsh and heads for the fox-head mountain, though Harewhisker struggles to keep up. Galestar and Tinyclaw support Harewhisker as they climb up the mountain. However, StormClan struggles to find prey and water two moons later, and Harewhisker resorts to eating a beetle. When Stripestar attempts to encourage the Clan to catch another hawk like the Tribe of Rushing Water, Harewhisker argues that the Tribe had a waterfall to sustain them. Later at the sun-drown-place, Harewhisker and Icefoot are the first warriors to welcome Galestar's litter.
