Shattered Peace

"Those kits are precious, Barley. We have to protect them and help the other cats as best we can."

Icicle is born to Minty and Willie in the barn with their siblings, Snowflake, Cloudy, and Sniff. They develop a relationship with one of the owners of the barn, Ravenpaw, like the rest of their littermates. None of the kits share the same bond with Barley though because he is suspicious of them and doesn't care for them as much as Ravenpaw does. When their group starts to leave, the kits beg that they should be able to stay with Ravenpaw, and, along with their other siblings, clambers all over Ravenpaw to say good-bye. Icicle and the other kits seem to be frightened of Snapper, who orders them to leave Ravenpaw.

Icicle, their siblings, and their mother are not a part of the attack on the barn the other rogues create. When Ravenpaw and Barley come running away from the barn, they are hiding under a bush with their mother and siblings. When Icicle's family attacks Barley and Ravenpaw, they watch in horror with the rest of their siblings from a safe distance. Icicle and the other kits seem to be against taking over the barn and kicking Ravenpaw and Barley out, but they are too young to fully understand the cruelty their family has inflicted on the barn cats. It is revealed that if Icicle had not come to the barn, they would have became a BloodClan cat in Twolegplace.

The Heart of a Warrior

Icicle and their siblings play with a dead mouse. Ravenpaw sees this, and thinks of how wasteful and wrong it was, also remembering that the warrior code says not to abuse prey. When the ThunderClan warriors attack the rogues for the second time, Brightheart is seen telling Icicle and their siblings to find their mother because the battle wasn't for kits.
