Chapter description

After spending a day watching the Twoleg holding the wildcats captive, the Clan cats set their plan in motion. When the Twoleg appears to feed the animals, the cats leap out of their hiding spot and create a distraction. The commotion causes the Twoleg's dog chases after them, successfully distracting the Twoleg so the wildcats can pounce. The other captive animals begin to grow agitated, starting the next part of their plan.

Ivypool hesitantly approaches one of the cages, containing a huge dog. She launches herself at the cage, and the dog lunges for her. Due to the cats weakening the mesh barrier, the dog is able to push through, and other animals begin to follow its lead. The Twoleg flees while the cats and wildcats take refuge nearby, watching the chaos from afar. The Twoleg shoots something at the large dog, and Ivypool thinks he killed it. Tumble Leap soothes her by explaining it is a sleep-stick, and that the animals will be fine. Icewing yells that they need to leave, and the group runs away, back towards the direction of the sun-drown-place.
