| "Stripestar has disappeared from StarClan because no cat remembers him. No cat can fully remember what happened to StormClan. But you remember him, Galestar, and you could bring him back. And then you could force the Clans to remember what happened to StormClan. I don't know why we need to do that, but I'm sure we do. And you could get the answers you need." |

Chapter description[]
- Ivypool and Icewing wait for the wildcat ancestors to tell them more, but Prowl Sleek explains that they must enter the afterlife to find out and tells the Clan cats that they will help them do so. Hunt Growl states that they do not need to return to the Star Tree, and he leads them to a different clearing containing a hollow log. Prowl Sleek tells them to clear their minds and enter the log. Skeptical, the two she-cats step forward.
- Ivypool envisions her family in ThunderClan for a brief moment before clearing her thoughts. When she opens her eyes again, both she and Icewing are astonished by the sight before them. They emerge into a forest, similar to the one they saw entering the Star Tree and walk forward until they find the bank of a river. Galestar greets them as they approach and begins to explain that she has reflected on the past more since their last meeting. Icewing suggests that Galestar may need to face her pain over what happened with Stripestar and StormClan, but Galestar is confused and states that StormClan no longer exists.
- Ivypool suddenly realizes that they need to travel to StarClan to speak with Stripestar, which horrifies Galestar. Ivypool continues, explaining that StarClan no longer remembers StormClan, but Galestar has the power to bring them back. Galestar, despite her fear, reluctantly agrees, though with the stipulation that Ivypool and Icewing must accompany her. Ivypool objects, as neither she nor Icewing are medicine cats and do not know how to get to StarClan. Galestar explains that it does not matter, as they were chosen to go on this quest. Galestar leads them into the River of Spirits, a body of water that connects all the afterlives, her earlier fear gone in the face of her decision being made.
