"If you reach Sparkpelt, tell her I love her. Tell her not to be unhappy. I'll take care of Flickerkit until she can join us. But she has to be happy. She has to make a life without me. I don't want her to grieve."
—Larksong to Squirrelflight Squirrelflight's Hope, page 364
Larksong has a close relationship with his mate, Sparkpelt. It is noted that he and Sparkpelt had been discussing names for their future kits, deciding on the name Flickerkit for one, hence his deceased StarClan son. After Larksong succumbs to prey illness, Sparkpelt is deeply devastated and falls into depression, unable to take care of her two remaining kits. When Squrrielflight joins StarClan temporarily, Larksong tells her to send a message to Sparkpelt, telling her that he loves her and wants her to be happy with her life.[1]

"Larksong was lucky to have a mother like you. As a kit, I lost my own mother. I moved from one camp to another, lost and gained a sister and a father. Throughout it all, you were there for me, and Larksong was like a littermate. I will miss him like a brother."

"Larksong was a great mentor. It's not fair he died of sickness and not in battle. But I promise to become the best warrior I can be in honor of his memory."

Larksong: "I promise I'll be the best father I can be to your daughter's kits."
Squirrelflight: "I'm sure you will be. I think you're going to be very happy."
—Larksong and Squirrelflight Squirrelflight's Hope, page 197
While their interactions were brief, Squirrelflight was happy that Larksong was Sparkpelt's choice of a mate, and pleased that he planned to take an active part in their kits' lives.[2] However, when he succumbs to sickness, Squirrelflight misses him.[3] Larksong, in StarClan, is the one to greet both her and Leafpool when they nearly die.[4]
