"If I'm bloodying my paws already, why stop at one cat?"
This article contains major spoilers for the recently released book, Wind. Please proceed at your own discretion.
"But I could not have lived with myself if Leafkit had been hurt. My parents would have been devastated—not to mention, those kits are WindClan's future."
Whistlepaw to Frostpaw about saving Leafkit in Wind, page 238

Leafkit is a very small, mostly white[2] she-kit.[3] She has some dark gray spots on her flank and one dark gray ear.[2]

History[]

In the A Starless Clan arc[]

Wind[]

Leafkit is born to Featherpelt and Oatclaw of WindClan, along with her littermates, Branchkit and Grasskit. Harestar announces their births at a Gathering shortly after Splashtail announces RiverClan's new births. On her way back from the Gathering, Frostpaw receives a vision of lightning striking the moorland, along with the sound of squealing WindClan kits. Frostpaw fights against the storm to relay her vision to WindClan, and warn about a tree falling on the nursery. While Appleshine and Woodsong are suspicious of the warning, Kestrelflight agrees to have the kits guarded. Frostpaw still wants to help them, so she brings Nightheart and Sunbeam to the moorland.
There, the trio see the tree fall onto the nursery, and warriors desperately trying to break it, while Whistlepaw, Leafkit's older sister, desperately screams for the small kit. She claws herself into the branches of the tree, heavily injuring herself. Kestrelflight explains that the storm got worse, and he was trying to heed the warning and evacuate the kits; but Leafkit couldn't get out before the tree fell. Frostpaw is concerned that Leafkit is dead, which Kestrelflight replies to, saying he doesn't know.
After a long while of clearing branches, Sunbeam manages to wriggle her way through some with Harestar's help. Sunbeam reaches Leafkit, who lets out soft whimpers, and promises the kit that they will both escape. Sunbeam picks up Leafkit by the scruff, and wriggles herself out, setting Leafkit with her family. Featherpelt is overjoyed that Leafkit had been rescued, and is grateful to Sunbeam, Nightheart, and Frostpaw for caring and helping. The queen then fusses over Leafkit, who is brought to the medicine den to be checked up. Fortunately, Leafkit does not have any major injuries; just some scratches and bruises.
When Frostpaw talks to Whistlepaw, the medicine cat apprentice says that she couldn't let Leafkit die. Thanks to the rescue of Leafkit, Harestar sees that Frostpaw is a trustworthy cat, and decides to help depose Splashtail if necessary.

Ivypool's Heart[]

During Whistlepaw's vision, she remembers how Leafkit had recently been trapped in the nursery by a log. Later, when trying to contact the wildcats' ancestors, Ivypool envisions a storm, recalling how Leafkit had nearly been killed by one.
