Moth Flight's Vision[]
- As Moth Flight observes Leafstar's nine live ceremony, she sees a brown and white tabby and thinks that the two must be kin. Then, Leafstar's mother gives Leafstar a life, and Leafstar is seen to be regretful at the departure of her mother, and Moth Flight silently confirms that the two must be mother and daughter.

- Leafstar's mother: "Nothing is lost forever, dear one. With this life I give you love. Use it well for all the cats who look to you for protection."

- When Leafdapple is receiving her nine lives and her name as SkyClan's chosen leader, her mother is one of the nine cats to give her a life. Leafdapple is surprised and very delighted to see her, and they greet each other lovingly during the ceremony. Firestar notes that he can barely tell the two apart.
- Her mother gives her the life of love, to use well for all the cats who look to her for protection. Leafdapple is unprepared for the piercing agony of the life, expecting it to be gentle, proving just how much a cat can love each other and how willing to risk their life for him or her. After she receives the life, her mother pads away. Leafdapple is sad to see her go, but her mother looks back and tells her not to be afraid, and that she will walk many times with her in her dreams.
