Graystripe: "Honestly! You would think some of these useless cats could come and help."

Lily: "Hey, not so much with the ‘useless.’ Do you think we haven't tried that too? You don't even know how long it's been since we gave up trying to escape."

Lily is one of the many kittypets who live in terrible conditions with an elderly Twoleg. Graystripe arrives at the den and tries to encourage the cats to escape, but Lily says that they've tried before, to no avail. Graystripe insists that there has to be a way out. The cats begin brainstorming a way out, and Petunia reveals that she may know of a way to escape, causing Lily to incredulously ask her why she didn't tell them about it before. Petunia tells them of the possible escape route, but says that she won't leave her Twoleg. Lily protests, saying that they can't leave Petunia behind, but the old she-cat doesn't change her mind. Lily helps out in the plan to escape, but it ends in failure.

Later, when Graystripe desperately begins tearing at a wooden plank in the floor to try to get out, he growls that the other cats are useless for not helping him, offending Lily. Lily tells him that they've already tried everything. Graystripe says that they can't give up, but Lily just shrugs and walks away.

When Fang returns with the WarriorClan cats to help, Lily regains some hope and becomes determined to escape. She helps Graystripe lift the wooden plank from the inside of the den. She is one of the last cats to leave along with Petunia because she helps the other cats escape first. After the cats have moved away from the Twoleg den, a Twolegs wearing black-and-white pelts begin to arrive at the nest. Lily whispers that these Twolegs take cats whose Twolegs can't take care of them and give them to other Twolegs. Graystripe says that they have to go, but Sunflower says that he could stay behind and distract the Twolegs while the rest of the group flees. Lily says that they're not going to leave anyone behind and tries to shove Sunflower in the direction Graystripe pointed, but an old tabby she-cat says that the older cats will do this for the younger cats.

The group arrives in WarriorClan, and they start to discuss where they will go now. Lily says that she wants to join WarriorClan, and a few other cats echo her request. Monkeystar says that she would be glad to have them. When Graystripe names Petunia as WarriorClan's medicine cat, she believes it might be a good idea to teach Lily as her apprentice to help care for the Clan.

In the comic, Lily joins Monkeystar, Clawwhistle, and Bugeater on a patrol to find Petunia. They find her at their old Twoleg den where they were trapped. Petunia laments that she must wait for her old Twoleg to return and that she can't turn her back on her. Lily helps convince Petunia that she is needed in WarriorClan and that she needs to leave the den and their Twoleg behind for good. Petunia reluctantly agrees and leaves with them. After a visit to the Moonstone, Lily welcomes her back at camp, along with the rest of WarriorClan.
