ShadowClan elder[]

History:At a Gathering, the ShadowClan elder mentions that ThunderClan cats are lucky not to get bitten by adders. Her Clanmate agrees, mentioning Marshpaw's death after treading on one.

History:At a Gathering, Mapleshade dodges around a rock and passes by a group of RiverClan cats, who respond to her appearance with hostility. When Mapleshade assures them that she is not staying, a RiverClan cat that she cannot see growls their relief.

ShadowClan elder[]

History:When Mapleshade and Appledusk part at a Gathering, Reedshine appears and presses herself against Appledusk's shoulder. She then tells him to come listen to a ShadowClan elder that's telling a story about a cat that swallowed a live frog.

History:While Nettlepaw tells Mapleshade about what Frecklewish saw at the river, the ThunderClan cat calls out to Nettlepaw from the other side of a holly bush before the apprentice returns to them.

WindClan cat[]

History:The WindClan cat is seen hunting with a patrol, racing after a rabbit at the border. When Mapleshade grabs the rabbit and climbs up a tree, the patrol scrambles to a halt. The WindClan cat asks cluelessly where the rabbit went, before deciding to leave with the rest of the patrol. Mapleshade thinks that the patrol are fools.

History:The WindClan cat is seen hunting with a patrol, racing after a rabbit at the border. When Mapleshade grabs the rabbit and climbs up a tree, the patrol scrambles to a halt. The WindClan cat circles around the trunk, sniffing the ground. They mention that the trail stops at the trunk, but notes that it is impossible, since rabbits do not climb trees. The patrol eventually decide to leave cluelessly. Mapleshade thinks that the patrol are fools.

Gray-and-white kittypet[]

"Get out of here! You're one of those stinking forest cats, aren't you? My housefolk don't want you in their backyard! Shoo!"

History:The kittypet tells Mapleshade that his housefolk don't want her in his backyard, and shoos her. However, Mapleshade scratches his muzzle, and he wails in pain. Mapleshade later sees him squat on the grass with an angry Twoleg, and then run inside a flap in the Twoleg nest.

Dark Forest resident[]

Mapleshade: "Am I dead? Is this StarClan?"
Dark Forest resident: "Not StarClan. This is the Dark Forest, the Place of No Stars. We welcome you, Mapleshade."
Mapleshade: "Who are you? Show yourself!"
Dark Forest resident: "Never. You have come here to walk alone in your blood-soaked memories."

History:When Mapleshade ends up in the Place of No Stars, she asks if she is in StarClan. The unknown Dark Forest resident hisses that she is definitely not in StarClan, but in the Dark Forest. Mapleshade demands that they reveal themselves, but the cat refuses, telling her that she came here to walk in her blood-soaked memories, never to associate with another cat again.
