Pinepaw sees this kittypet when touring the territory near Twolegplace with Mistpelt, and is scared of them. Mistpelt chases him off and says that Pinepaw will scare them off by himself next time.
Pinepaw hears him and three other ShadowClan warriors trying to invade ThunderClan. During the battle, Mistpelt is fighting him. He retreats with the other warriors across the Thunderpath.
She is one of the ShadowClan invaders that Pinepaw discovers. It is mentioned that after ShadowClan was called to retreat, she attempted to attack Daisypaw one more time, but Squirrelwhisker stopped her. All of the ShadowClan warriors retreat across the Thunderpath afterwards.
During ThunderClan's raid on Twolegplace, Doefeather instructs Mistpelt and Pinepaw to scare those kittypets when they are heard talking behind a wall. After Pinepaw finishes talking with the she-cat who saved his life once, Mistpelt says the rest of the patrol has chased the two kittypets off.
Shanty brings Pinestar to meet her and the male Twoleg. Later, when Shanty dies, they come and see her on the Thunderpath and are sad. When Pinestar makes the decision to leave ThunderClan, he goes to live with them.
Tall Twoleg with dark brown skin.[3] He has rougher hands than the female Twoleg.[3] He is described by Shanty as being "a bit loud but safe" (for cats).[3]
Shanty brings Pinestar to meet him and the female Twoleg. Later, when Shanty dies, they come and see her on the Thunderpath and are sad. Pinestar goes to live with them after he leaves ThunderClan.

Shanty tells Pinestar her early memories. She explains she remembers she had littermates, but does not know where they are now. Pinestar is surprised, asking if she is concerned about them. Shanty asks why she would, as if they have housefolk like she has, then they would know she is safe and happy.
