While searching the Twolegplace for Ken, Sasha's former owner, Tadpole, Hawk, and Moth are confronted by BloodClan rogues. A light-colored BloodClan tom accuses them of trespassing and grows agitated when he smells the forest on them. Later, as Sasha and Shnuky follow the trail of the missing kits, the light-colored BloodClan cat and a white one confront the two she-cats for trespassing. While Shnuky is fearful of the strong looking cats, Sasha isn't intimidated and lies that she's from the forest looking for her missing Clan's kits, knowing the BloodClan cats would be fearful of retribution from the Clans after Tigerstar's death. The light-colored BloodClan fearfully explains to Sasha how the kits ran into the nearby Twoleg nest and pleads for her to not tell her Clanmates about them.

After Pine leaves, a patched queen rudely confronts Sasha and her kits for being homeless rogues and wishes for them to leave. She has her own three kits attack Hawk and Moth, and insists to Sasha that she could learn something about motherhood since her own kits are strong and healthy. However, Sasha attacks the queen for hurting her kits and easily pins her down, realizing the loner doesn't have any battle training.
