When SkyClan decides to try hunting at night to avoid the heat, Sharpclaw'spatrol is attacked by a badger. All members of the patrol are injured, including the tabby's shoulder.

Sol's father tells Cinders that he has met another mate who does not complain all the time. He explains that the pair of them are leaving the area in search of somewhere with more prey.
Short-furred reddish-brown tabby cat with black ears and green eyes.[12] They have a paler muzzle, underbelly chest, and paws, a black tail-tip, a black nose,[13] and nicks in their ears.[14]
