Riverstar sends Frostpaw visions of when RiverClan was nearly destroyed. In one vision, Frostpaw seems a tom being swept away in a raging river, yowling as they drown.
A queen and kit[]
«The queen dropped [the kit] and crouched over it, her eyes wide with shock as another cat swept past, caught in the grip of the thundering river.»

During Frostpaw's visions, she spots a queen struggling in the river with a kit dangling in her jaws. After the queen reaches she shore, she crouches over the kit and watches in horror as several other cats are swept away.
During Frostpaw's visions, a tom from the shore screeches for Emberstar, asking what they should do.
RiverClan cats[]
«On the far bank, cats crouched at the edge, trying desperately to reach their drowning friends. Others pressed against one another, their faces contorted with fear as the mud beneath their paws crumbled and fell away.»

During Frostpaw's visions, she several cats being swept away in the raging river. Other cats on the shore try desperately to reach them, while others watch in fear Frostpaw feels compelled to help them, but her vision fades before she can act. Riverstar later tells Frostpaw that the vision was from a time when RiverClan might have been lost forever.
