Mist is one of Mitzi's kits who are mentioned by Fleck to be quite a pawful. He asks Crookedkit where his mother is, and he replies that she's back at camp. He introduces himself, and his sister, Piper, scrambles over him to introduce herself. When Mitzi asks if her kits will behave themselves with Crookedkit watching over them, he promises his mother that he will. When the corn in the cornfield, where Mitzi's nest is, is being cut, Mist is taken into a ditch by her. Mist is seen when Crookedkit leaves to go back home, and he, Piper, Soot, and Magpie stare at him with wide eyes.

Later on, Crookedpaw meets Soot, another kit of Mitzi's. Soot says that the gray tom; along with his brother Magpie, were taken away by Twolegs to another farm, while the rest of them; Fleck, Mitzi, Soot, and Piper, stayed at the cornfield.

Although not directly mentioned by name, Mist is alluded to on Crookedstar's page. Crookedkit, upon leaving RiverClan, went to stay with some barn cats for a while, and learned from them. While he loved his time there, he realized he was a RiverClan cat at heart, and left Mist and her family.
