The Warriors series is incredibly long, with each book published in a relatively short span of time. As a result, mistakes often appear in the novels, the images, and in the official website devoted to the series. For brevity, these articles do not contain grammatical or spelling errors. This article documents many of these mistakes in the novellas.
On the cover of the digital novella collection, at the bottom where it lists the titles, it is mistakenly listed as "Thunder's Echo" instead of "Thunderstar's Echo".[2] This was later fixed in the physical printing.[3]
Shadowstar refers to SkyClan hunters as warriors,[11] despite the rank not yet existing.[9]
Though it has been established that early deputies did not take over after a leader's death until much later in Clan history,[12] Shadowstar repeatedly refers to her deputy, which she picks to be Raven Pelt, as definitively the next cat to lead ShadowClan.[13] Shadowstar has no kits or other kin in her Clan, however, so in this case, the deputy may be the obvious choice.
Darkstar is called Duskstar throughout the book.[16]
In Battles of the Clans, Cloudstorm states that he and Birdflight became warriors at the same time.[17] In Cloudstar's Journey, Cloudstar mentions that Birdflight is several moons older than him, and was already a warrior when he was made an apprentice.[18]
It is said that Lionpaw found out about Pinestar visiting Twolegplace a quarter-moon before Leopardfoot's kits were born,[30] when in reality the kits were born a day before Lionpaw found out.[31]
Goosefeather is said to have moved to the elders' den a couple of days after Tigerpaw fights Tiny.[43] However, he does not join the elders until much later, a half-moon before Bluefur's kits are born.[44]
The beginning of chapter 9 includes several mistakes:
Tigerclaw and Whitestorm are made warriors at the same time,[42] even though Tigerclaw became a warrior four moons before Whitestorm.[38]
Bluefur is pregnant when Whitestorm becomes a warrior,[42] despite the fact that she does not even meet with Oakheart until well after he receives his name.[45]
Whitestorm is made a warrior in leaf-bare[46] when he is actually made a warrior in leaf-fall.[38]
Spottedpaw is shown to be Featherwhisker's apprentice, despite not gaining that role until a half-moon before Bluefur's kits are born.[44]
Mumblefoot is shown playing with Bluefur's kits,[47] despite him being dead at this point since he is mentioned to be so before Spottedpaw becomes a medicine cat apprentice.[38]
Softwing should be listed as a queen and not as a warrior.[52][56]
Deadfoot is listed as a warrior, while Pigeonpaw and Sorrelpaw are still apprentices, and Palebird is still in the nursery, implying he became a warrior very early.[52] In the allegiances of Leopardstar's Honor, Palebird is a warrior and her kits are apprentices, while Deadpaw and his siblings are also still apprentices.[57]
Talltail is listed as deputy while Shrewclaw is still alive,[52] despite the fact that the latter died before the former was made deputy.[58]
Reedfeather is also not listed despite still being alive at this time since Crookedjaw is not leader yet.[59]
It says that ThunderClan warned RiverClan off of Sunningrocks before Redpaw became an apprentice[60] when it actually was after.[38][61]
Despite Stonefur appearing in the battle,[65] Oakheart does not pull Redtail away to protect Stonefur, which later prompts Fireheart's investigation into the mystery of Bluestar's kits.[66]
It is very likely that Applefur is meant to be the same Applefur from Omen of the Stars arc, who shares the same description.[69] However, that Applefur was a kit during the Great Journey and would not have been born for Tigerclaw's Fury.[70] It is possible that the allegiances for Omen of the Stars was consulted while writing this book, as Cedarheart, who would have been an apprentice,[71] is mistakenly shown as an elder and Ratscar, who first appeared in Eclipse,[72] are featured in Tigerclaw's Fury.[73] However, due to timeline inconsistencies, this character is listed as separate from Applefur in Omen of the Stars.
Mowgli is said to be a loner[80] instead of a rogue.[68]
Stumpytail and Dawncloud are said to have been close friends as apprentices,[80] but Dawncloud was a newborn kit when Stumpytail was a warrior.[82]
Despite not earning his warrior name until after The Darkest Hour,[83]Cedarheart is shown as an elder in Tigerclaw's Fury, which is set before then.[73]
Littlecloud is mistakenly referred to as a gray tabby.[73]
Despite not earning his warrior name until The Darkest Hour,[84] Thornclaw is shown as a warrior in Tigerclaw's Fury, which is set before then.[73]
In A Dangerous Path, Littlecloud explains how Whitethroat mysteriously died when he refused to return to ShadowClan's camp after Fireheart made them leave,[85] but in Tigerclaw's Fury, Whitethroat returns to ShadowClan and Tigerclaw explains to ShadowClan how Fireheart killed him on the Thunderpath.[86]
In one scene, the cats are training at "a sandy space among the pines not far from the lake".[87] This refers to the new territories, despite the fact that the Clans had not traveled to the lake territories yet.[88]
During a fight with WindClan, it is initially said that the battle is occurring within WindClan camp, but then it is said that the WindClan cats are a patrol.[101]
Right after his exile, Tigerclaw informs Blackfoot of Brokentail's death[104] even though there is no way for Tigerclaw to know this yet as Brokentail is killed shortly after he leaves ThunderClan's camp.[105]
Darktail is said to have been in the Dark Forest with Tigerstar and the others,[113] when he was actually alive and had not even met most of the cats by the lake at the time.[114]
Troutstream is mistakenly called Troutpaw[115], despite the fact that the Great Battle takes place after she receives her warrior name.[116]
Hollyleaf discovers Sol's plot the same night she meets Dovewing and Ivypool,[131] but in The Forgotten Warrior, Hollyleaf tells Dovewing and Ivypool that she has been eavesdropping on Sol plotting with WindClan in the tunnels for the past half-moon.[132]
It is said that Bluestar revealed to Mistyfoot and Stonefur that she was their mother just before she died,[135] when it was actually Fireheart who revealed the secret to them some time earlier, in a battle for Sunningrocks.[136][137]
Mintfur is supposed to have gone on the patrol upstream alongside Mistystar, Icewing and Grasspelt, but he is not mentioned again for the rest of the chapter.[145]
It is mentioned that Mudfur stayed behind in the old forest because he had grown too old to travel.[146] However, Mudfur died before the journey to the lake even began.[147]
Mistystar mentions that she did not know Oakheart to be her father until after Bluestar's death.[141] However, in Forest of Secrets, long before Bluestar's death, Mistyfoot tells Fireheart that Oakheart is her father.[148]
Seedkit is listed as both an apprentice and a kit, despite being a kit during the whole story. This is in the original digital-only copy and is fixed in the physical reprints.[151]
Briarlight is shown in the allegiances,[171] despite dying before the book takes place.[172]
According to the allegiances, the book starts before The Raging Storm, but in chapter one of the novella, it is mentioned that ShadowClan and SkyClan had trouble over territory,[173] which happened in The Raging Storm.
Spotfur is mistakenly referred to by her warrior name before actually receiving it.[174]
