The Warriors series is incredibly long, with each book published in a relatively short span of time. As a result, mistakes often appear in the novels, the images, and in the official website devoted to the series. For brevity, these articles do not contain grammatical or spelling errors. This article documents many of these mistakes in the stand-alone graphic novels.
Hawkfrost is shown with a very faint white underside instead of a full white belly.[5]
Feathertail mistakenly refers to Hawkfrost and Mothwing by their apprenticenames when they are sleeping in the warriors'den,[6] and Feathertail's dream coincides with the prologue of Midnight when Hawkfrost and Mothwing are already warriors.[7]
In A Shadow in RiverClan, Stormfur easily becomes friends with his Clanmates again without harboring resentment like Feathertail.[8] However, in The New Prophecy, especially Moonrise, Stormfur is presented as distrustful and having difficulty making friends because of his half-Clan status.[9][10]
The Clan leaders hold a separate meeting to send out a preliminary scouting patrol to scope out the new territories,[15] but in Starlight, it is the same first meeting when Onewhisker interrupts Mudclaw.[16]
Leafpaw is mistakenly depicted with a white muzzle and underbelly.[25]
In Starlight, Crowfeather is visually appalled when Onewhisker orders him to escort Leafpaw back to camp,[26] but in Winds of Change, Crowfeather and Leafpaw appear affectionate.[27]
In Starlight, Mistyfoot reports how she spotted Hawkfrost and Mudclaw meeting in the heavy rainfall,[28] but in Winds of Change, Mudclaw and Hawkfrost spot Mistyfoot spying on them with a clear night sky.[29]
Mudclaw and Hawkfrost strike on the night the medicine cats are at the Moonpool,[30] but Leafpool and Cinderpelt are shown in camp when Mistyfoot brings news of Hawkfrost and Mudclaw's impending fight in Starlight.[31]
In Starlight, Firestar orders Cloudtail and Brightheart to watch over the camp and for Thornclaw to lead a patrol to check on ShadowClan,[32] but in Winds of Change, all three appear in Firestar's patrol to fight Mudclaw in WindClan's camp.[33] In addition, Mousefur is shown participating in the battle,[34] despite retiring earlier in Starlight.[35]
It is said that Mosskit became an apprentice when he was four moons old,[36] but in Yellowfang's Secret, it is stated that Mosskit was made an apprentice when he was three moons old,[37] and died before reaching his fourth moon.[38]
Several days pass between the elders' leaving the camp and Mosspaw dying[39] even though it happens on the same day.[40]
Nightpelt's line to Featherstorm is missing a connector indicating that it's him replying to her when he says he'll wait with her until sunrise.[41]
Dawncloud joins Nightpelt's group of exiled elders early on,[42][43] despite still being a member of ShadowClan as Dawnpaw[44] and having a litter of kits.[45]
One of Runningnose's lines to Nightpelt is mistakenly aimed at Nightpelt so it appears he is speaking instead.[46]
Volepaw is shown in front of a ShadowClan patrol,[47] despite the fact that he is supposed to hide from them as they believe he is dead.[48]
Brightflower is in camp when Brokenstar reveals he killed her kits in Into the Wild,[49] but here Brightflower doesn't return to camp until after Brokenstar's defeat.[50]
In Yellowfang's Secret, Yellowfang leaves Runningnose to help the elders finish setting up their camp, returns to ShadowClan in time to witness Mosspaw's death, and witnesses Featherstorm's exile the same day.[40] In this graphic novel, Featherstorm does not join the elders until several days later.[51]
In Yellowfang's Secret, Yellowfang and Nightpelt witness the battle in which Badgerfang dies, and Yellowfang returns to camp to find Brightflower's next litter has been born,[52] only for them to be killed half a moon later.[53] In this graphic novel, after they witness the battle, Nightpelt seemingly starts teaching Volepaw to hunt the same day, only for them to encounter Brightflower, who tells them her kits are dead.[54]
A moon passes between Willowpelt's kits getting apprenticed[56] and Bramblepaw being made a warrior[57] when in reality there are two moons between these events.[58]
Additionally, Brightheart is still acting as a warrior when Bramblepaw is made a warrior[59] despite being in the nursery by that time.[60]
An unspecified number of days before Bramblepaw's warrior ceremony Firestar is acting strangely,[61] hinting at the time he's distracted by apparitions of Cloudstar. The first time Cloudstar even appears to him, however,[62] is the night before Bramblepaw is made a warrior.[63]
Ashfur is depicted with a torn ear,[64] despite not gaining it until Sunset.[65]
Longtail's stripes on his back sometimes are drawn and sometimes are not.[66][67]
In the scene after Longtail is blinded and carried back to camp, there are a few inconsistencies between this book and Firestar's Quest:
In Firestar's Quest, Brightheart is the one who speaks her worries about Longtail,[68] but in A Thief in ThunderClan, it's Ferncloud who does so.[69]
In Firestar's Quest, Brightheart is said to be murmuring her relief about not being blind "half to herself",[68] but in A Thief in ThunderClan she is shown talking specifically to Cloudtail.[69]
In Firestar's Quest, Firestar is the one to ask about the unfinished hunting patrol,[68] but in A Thief in ThunderClan it's Cloudtail who asks.[70]
Dustpelt is seen guarding the camp during a Gathering,[71] despite actually attending said Gathering.[72]
Speckletail and the other elders who carry Willowpelt out of camp for burial,[75] are mistakenly shown with designs similar to Firestar, Graystripe, Sandstorm, and Brackenfur.[76]
In A Thief in ThunderClan, Brightheart gives birth during the day, and only Cloudtail and Cinderpelt are with her,[78] but in Graystripe's Vow she gives birth during the night, and Graystripe, Ferncloud and her kits are also there.[79]
