The Warriors series is incredibly long, with each book published in a relatively short span of time. As a result, mistakes often appear in the novels, the images, and in the official website devoted to the series. For brevity, these articles do not contain grammatical or spelling errors. This article documents many of these mistakes in the The Broken Code arc.
In select hardback copies of Darkness Within, the "Bonus! Poster inside" sticker is accidentally replaced with one saying "Exclusive Warriors comic inside", like the ones featured on the covers of Super Editions.[28]
The c in ThunderClan is not capitalized, so it reads, "Thunderclan" throughout the entire book.[29] This remains the same in the paperback edition and on Kindle.[30]
Tree is present at the Gathering,[31] despite choosing to miss it due to his injured leg.[32]
It is said that Mistystar ended the Gathering due to demands that she allow her exiled warriors to return[33] when it was actually Tigerstar who ended the Gathering.[34]
It is said that Sunrise waves Squirrelflight and Leafstar out of the clearing, but then it is stated that she noses Tigerstar and Leafstar away as well, though Leafstar is already out of the clearing.[40]
It is said that Shadowsight saw the impostor's ghost while sleeping after eating deathberries to search for Bramblestar's ghost[43], when he actually saw the impostor's ghost while unconscious for the impostor's attack.[44]
Leafstar states that Squirrelflight and Leafpool had spent time with the Sisters,[49] but it was actually herself and Squirrelflight who spent time with the Sisters.[50]
Snowtuft's scar is said to begin at his neck,[51] when it actually starts at the tip of his ear.[52]
Flipclaw is missing from the allegiances despite appearing in the book.[54][55]
It is said that Rootspring was trying to get back to the living world behind Bristlefrost and Shadowsight when Darkstripe attacked him,[56] however, it was Squirrelflight, Bramblestar and Snowtuft he was running after.[57]
It is said that Spiresight saved Shadowsight's life twice,[58] referring to the fact that he saved him when the impostor almost killed him,[59] and when he almost fell off the bridge, but on the latter occasion it was actually Pouncestep whom Spiresight saved.[17]
Houndleap is called pale brown.[60] This is fixed in the paperback edition.[61]
Mothwing is called a RiverClan medicine cat[62] despite not rejoining RiverClan until after Ashfur is gone.[63]
In Night Whispers, the concept of fading is introduced: very old and forgotten spirits eventually disappear, whether in the Dark Forest[69] or StarClan.[70] However, this rule no longer exists in A Light in the Mist, where we see Mapleshade, Gray Wing, and Clear Sky fully formed.[71]
In The Forgotten Warrior, Bluestar tells Jayfeather that StarClan does not judge the dead or choose their fate.[72] However, in A Light in the Mist, it is said that StarClan organizes trials to determine who is worthy of joining them.[73]
It is said that Shadowsight could never communicate with StarClan, as he could only "see into the shadows" as Spiresight foretold, meaning his connection with Ashfur (the shadows) gave him his visions. After Ashfur died, Shadowsight's connection with him disappeared and he could never communicate with their ancestors.[74][75] However, Shadowsight has previously received visions from StarClan that had nothing to do with Ashfur.[76][77]
