The Warriors series is incredibly long, with each book published in a relatively short span of time. As a result, mistakes often appear in the novels, the images, and in the official website devoted to the series. This article documents many of these mistakes in The Prophecies Begin arc.
On the cover, Tigerclaw is missing his scarred muzzle, which he had received in the prologue of Into the Wild.[13]
In Tigerclaw's Fury, Stumpytail is listed as one of the cats who was exiled with Brokenstar.[14] However, in the allegiances of Fire and Ice, he is listed in ShadowClan.[15]
The allegiances list Swiftpaw, Cinderpaw, and Brackenpaw, despite none of them being apprentices at the start of the book. Cloudkit is also listed, despite his absence.[15]
Cinderpaw says that ShadowClan scent was on the stolen kits, but she herself was one of the stolen kits.[16]
Fireheart is mistakenly called Firepaw after he gets his warrior name.[17]
One-eye is referred to as a tom, despite being a female.[18]
Bluestar mentions that Runningwind and Dustpaw will be the ones going on the morning patrol,[19] but the next day, it's Runningwind and Sandpaw that Fireheart and Graystripe run into.[20]
Yellowfang is mistakenly referred to as a tom, despite being a she-cat.[23]
Nightstar is mistakenly called Nightpelt after he becomes leader.[24]
Sandstorm is mistakenly called Sandpaw after she gets her warrior name.[25]
It is said that it had been six moons since Spottedleaf had been killed,[26] and it is also stated that three moons had passed since Brokenstar was driven out,[27] however, both these events occurred on the same day.[10]
Graystripe is mistakenly described with amber eyes.[28]
The allegiances contain some errors, including the preemptive listings of Cinderpelt and Cloudpaw,[29] despite both of them not having those names yet.[30][31][32]
Tigerclaw tells Fireheart that he saw him letting Silverstream escape in the battle at the WindClancamp,[33] when it was actually Darkstripe who saw him.[34]
The allegiances preemptively list Firestar and Whitestorm as the leader and deputy of ThunderClan, respectively,[71] before this actually happens in the book.[72][73] Fireheart is also mistakenly called Firestar in the text before officially receiving his leader name,[74][75] and he is mistakenly called Fireheart after receiving his leader name.[76]
Tigerstar is referred to as Tigerclaw after receiving his leader name.[79]
Tawnypaw is mistakenly mentioned with amber eyes.[80]
In early editions, Tigerstar is referred to as Tigerpaw.[81]
When Firestar, Ravenpaw, and Graystripe go to save Graystripe's kits, it is mentioned that no medicine cats were present, and it is later mentioned that Mudfur, the medicine cat of RiverClan, was present at the meeting. However, he is described as a warrior.[82]
