Interesting facts

• Mistystar was the oldest known living cat in the Warriors series, at roughly 15 years old. Kate has stated that her team is aware of how old Mistystar is as of River.
• She has ThunderClan blood via Bluestar.
• Mistystar resembles her mother, Bluestar.

Author statements

• Kate has said that she would like to think that two of her four kits were Graymist and Rippletail. Reedwhisker was later confirmed to be one of her kits in the same chat.
  • It is later revealed that Graymist and Rippletail were not Reedwhisker's littermates, and that the kits Fireheart and Graystripe save from the river came from a litter consisting of Reedwhisker, Perchkit, Pikepaw, and Primrosepaw.
  • Vicky admits that they forgot about Mistystar's kits in later books.
• Vicky considered Blackclaw a "sensible option" for the father of Mistystar's kits. In addition, Blackclaw was mentioned to be the father of her kits on Vicky's Facebook and the Warrior Cats website family tree before it was added in Leopardstar's Honor.
• Vicky has said that Mistystar certainly lost some lives, but that they may have not been documented in the books.
• Vicky's favorite RiverClan cat is Mistystar.

Mistakes

• Mistystar has been described as dark gray, gray, and silver. She has also been depicted as gray-and-white, and a tabby. She has also been depicted with pale stripes above her forepaws.
• In Mistystar's Omen, Mistystar mentions that she did not know Oakheart to be her father until after Bluestar's death. However, in Forest of Secrets, long before Bluestar's death, Mistyfoot tells Fireheart that Oakheart is her father.
• In The Ultimate Guide, it mistakenly states that Leopardstar chose Mistyfoot to be her first deputy instead of Stonefur, and that Mistyfoot returned to her deputy duties after the BloodClan battle.
• RiverClan is mistakenly called her birth Clan.
• It was mistakenly said that Graystripe is her father.
• She was mistakenly called Miststar.
• She was mistakenly referred to as WindClan's leader.

Continuity

The following information is from sources considered non-canon, retconned, or from adapted material.

• In Secrets of the Clans, a 2007 field guide, Bluefur gives up her kits to their father, Oakheart, to be raised in RiverClan. Mosskit, however, dies in the snow. Mistyfoot gives a brief tour of RiverClan's lake home, and she and Silverstream rescue the kits trapped in the nursery when their camp floods. However, they only find two of the kits and are forced to leave without the others. Later, Graystripe and Fireheart come with Mistyfoot's missing kits.
• In The Clans Decide, when the Clans vote for Firestar or for individual leaders, Mistyfoot, along with Otterheart, Pouncetail, Mosspelt, Mintfur, and Reedwhisker of RiverClan vote for Firestar.
• On Vicky's Facebook, Mistystar and Blackclaw remained mates until he died, despite their vocal disagreements.
