"One of [SkyClan's] queens fed me and my littermates. If they hadn't, we'd have died."
— Moon remembering how SkyClan helped her kin in Darkness Within, page 193

Moon is a long-haired,[3] huge[4] gray[5] she-cat with wide shoulders and paws, and a thick pelt.[4]

History[]

In The Broken Code arc[]

Darkness Within[]

"Perhaps we could help in exchange for something. Do they have catmint? Perhaps they could share some with us."
―Moon about the Sisters helping the Clans Darkness Within, page 194
When Rootspring, Bristlefrost, Spotfur, and Needleclaw arrive at the Sister's camp, Sunrise introduces them to Moon and her sister, Squirrel. The Clan cats ask the Sisters for help with their ghost problem, but some of them are reluctant to help the Clans after the battle that killed their former leader and Moon's mother, Moonlight. Moon reminds them that a Clan queen fed her and her littermates, without which they would have died. She wonders if they could help in exchange for something and asks if they have catmint, but Snow says that if the Sisters decide to help, they will do it out of honor. Moonlight's spirit appears and convinces the Sisters to agree to help.
The Sisters head into SkyClan territory after a long journey back, but Moon gets two of her paws caught in a Twoleg vine. Bristlefrost runs her paws along the vine and suggests that they pull it clear, but Snow says it's too tight. She attempts to tug it out of the ground, but fails, and Moon wails with panic that she can't get free. Rootspring promises that they'll get her out, and assures that she's not hurt, just trapped. Sunrise tells Rootspring to try speaking to the earth to help free Moon, and when he protests, Moon whimpers please. Rootspring manages to find the source of the vine and, with the help of Sunrise and Bristlefrost, they dig it up and free Moon. Snow asks the gray she-cat if she's all right, and she responds that she's just a little bruised.
That night, the Sisters prepare for a summoning ceremony, hoping to find Bramblestar. Rootspring peers over Moon's head to catch Bristlefrost's eye before the ceremony starts. During the ceremony, many ghosts appear, but they appear to be hostile and in pain. Bristlefrost tries to break through the Sisters' circle, but Moon warns her to stay back. The Sisters end the ceremony, and decide to make camp close by in case the Clans need further assistance from them.

The Place of No Stars[]

Tree mentions how Rootspring had nursed alongside Moonlight's kits to convince Snow to aid them.

In the Super Editions[]

Squirrelflight's Hope[]

Tempest: "You didn't ask what we'd named the kits."
Squirrelflight: "What?"
Snow: "Leaf, Squirrel, and Moon."
Squirrelflight: "I'm honored. Thank you."
—Snow telling Squirrelflight what they named Moonlight's kits Squirrelflight's Hope, page 409
Moon, Squirrel, and Leaf are born to a heavily pregnant Moonlight during a battle between two of the Clans and the Sisters. Their mother dies of her injuries sustained during the battle, and Moon and her siblings are raised in SkyClan by Violetshine, Tempest and Snow. Squirrelflight visits them and learns that Moon is named after Moonlight. When the kits are weaned, Tempest and Snow take them back to the Sisters.
