These notes reflect a bulleted list of major and minor events in Moth Flight's Vision that can be easily navigated.   • Moth Flight is asleep and during her dream, she spots a blue-gray she-cat laying in a ditch. The she-cat is bleeding heavily and struggles to breathe.
  • There are other cats around. A dark brown tabby attacks a black-and-white tom. A ginger tom races to the she-cat's side. Two other young cats also watch. Eventually the tabby and black-and-white cat watch the blue-gray she-cat.
  • Moth Flight realizes that the cat is dying, and tells the cats that they must bury her. The cats do not react to her statement.
    • The cats continue to stare at their dead friend, and Moth Flight gets angrier that they are not burying her.
  • Suddenly, the blue-gray she-cat’s tail twitches and she lifts her head.
  • Moth Flight is shocked at how the she-cat is alive despite having been dead mere seconds ago.
  • Moth Flight sees a green moth, and watches it fly toward Highstones. She begins to follow the moth.

  • Dust Muzzle asks Moth Flight what she was mumbling about, and she wakes up, still thinking about her dream.
  • Moth Flight suddenly asks where Slate's kits are, remembering that the she-cat had asked her to watch them. The kits had been playing in the sandy hollow when Moth Flight had closed her eyes.
  • Rocky tells Moth Flight that they were near the RiverClan border. Moth Flight is angered that Rocky let them be near the gorge.
  • Spotted Fur reassures Moth Flight that he will help look for the kits. Dust Muzzle does not come to help though, as he has helped his sister many times before.
  • Spotted Fur and Moth Flight head toward the gorge. They meet Willow Tail, and she decides to help them find the kits.
  • The cats hear a kit wail, and Spotted Fur claims that the kits are in trouble.

  • Spotted Fur, Willow Tail, and Moth Flight find Black Ear and White Tail.
  • Willow Tail and Spotted Fur dig around the edges of the tunnel. Moth Flight goes to get Silver Stripe out.
    • Moth Flight helps Silver Stripe get back to the surface.
  • Moth Flight finds an interesting plant underground, and goes to dig it up.
  • She comes back to the surface, but has to leave the plant behind to carry Black Ear.
  • Spotted Fur, Willow Tail, and Moth Flight begin to carry the kits back to camp.
  • They find Red Claw in WindClan land. Willow Tail is angry about this, and the two start quarreling.
    • Willow Tail finally agrees to go back to camp after persuasion from Spotted Fur and Moth Flight.
  • When they come to camp, Slate is relieved. Wind Runner scolds Moth Flight for being so foolish.
  • Moth Flight, Gorse Fur, Dust Muzzle, and Wind Runner go hunting.

  • Wind Runner and Gorse Fur go to check the high burrows for rabbits, while Dust Muzzle and Moth Flight will hunt out the prey around the gorse patch.
  • Dust Muzzle comforts Moth Flight when Wind Runner still acts angry toward her.
  • Dust Muzzle and Moth Flight catch a shrew, and decide to help their parents hunt rabbits.
  • Wind Runner and Gorse Fur are sitting together, and Moth Flight overhears them; Wind Runner complains about Moth Flight and her irresponsibility, while Gorse Fur defends her.
  • The four begin hunting together.
    • Moth Flight is unsuccessful at her attempt in catching a lapwing, though Gorse Fur reassures her that it is okay.
    • Dust Muzzle goes to catch a vole that he spots, and Gorse Fur and Moth Flight decide to help Wind Runner, who crouches beside a rabbit burrow. Gorse Fur advises his daughter on how to catch a rabbit when it runs.
    • While waiting, Moth Flight gets distracted and thinks of her dream from the other night with the blue-gray she-cat. Wind Runner cries her name but Moth Flight still thinks about her dream.
      • Her mother yowls her name again, and Moth Flight glimpses a rabbit run past her, Wind Runner running after it.
      • Moth Flight's mother calls her a birdbrain while trying to hold back a snarl. She gets told off by her mother Wind Runner after she misses the rabbit.
    • Moth Flight sees the same moth she saw in her dream and follows it, not even noticing that her mother is calling her to come back.

  • Moth Flight keeps running and chasing the moth. She knows the moth is trying to show her something.
    • She runs on the Thunderpath trying to catch the moth.
    • Moth Flight feels something crash into her and she rolls across the other side of the Thunderpath.
  • Moth Flight realizes Gorse Fur saved her life from a monster. Wind Runner is furious at her daughter yet at the same time frightened.
  • Wind Runner, infuriated, yowls at Moth Flight is not only a danger to herself but a danger to her Clan, and many cats could've died because of her.
    • Moth Flight feels extremely guilty and remorseful.
    • She tells Moth Flight WindClan would be better off without her.
    • Gorse Fur and Dust Muzzle are shocked at Wind Runner's words.
  • Moth Flight, wracked with guilt, runs away from her family and thinks Wind Runner is right. Moth Flight feels she is a danger to her Clan and doesn't deserve to be with her family.

  • Moth Flight races across a field but stops to look behind her. She is relieved when she sees that no one has followed her.
    • She starts to wonder if her family are glad that she left.
  • When she realizes the sun has started to set, she wonders what to do next, as the moth is not there to show her where to go.
  • Moth Flight thinks about catching a bird but then she thinks how easily her mother would catch one.
  • She goes to drink from a puddle and spots a toad nearby. She wonders if it's edible.
    • She catches it and takes one bite from it although she instantly hates it.
  • Moth Flight starts to feel apprehensive about sleeping alone and thinks about how much she misses Dust Muzzle pressing up against her when she sleeps.

  • Moth Flight wakes up in a cave and sees the blue-gray she-cat, accompanied by a gray tom.
    • Moth Flight follows them to a chamber of the cave with an opening through the roof.
    • Inside the cave, spirit-cats suddenly start appearing around the stone to Moth Flight's amazement. They cannot see nor hear Moth Flight, like past dreams.
  • Moth Flight then sees the moth and she follows it through the entrance tunnel into the darkness.
    • Moth Flight then wakes up with Spotted Fur, and wants to leave to follow the moth. She wakes him up to tell him, and he falls back asleep promptly.
    • Moth Flight leaves, unsure if Spotted Fur had heard her, knowing that she must do this alone.

  • Moth Flight finishes disguising her scent, and continues traveling through unknown territory.
    • She attempts to catch a mouse, but is distracted by the appearance of the moth. She tries to pursue the moth, but is diverted away by a dog.
    • Micah appears and distracts the dog, long enough for Moth Flight to be ushered away by a black-and-white she-cat and a brown tom.
      • They leave without Micah since the other two cats insist he doesn't need any help. Moth Flight trusts them, and leaves with them.

  • The two barn cats introduce themselves as Cow and Mouse, and Moth Flight explains that she is a Clan cat, and is reminded of her family.
    • Micah appears unfazed, having dealt with the dog. Moth Flight is impressed at Micah's dog-herding skills.
  • Micah notices Moth Flight, and realizes he knows who she is from his dreams, even though he has never met her. Micah insists that his dreams feel real, and Moth Flight agrees.
  • Micah suggests they all hunt together, and they catch a mouse.
    • While they're eating, Micah and Moth Flight talk about their dreams. Moth Flight describes the moth and the spirit-cats to Micah.
    • Micah says that his dreams are about Moth Flight and her family, though he doesn't know who they are. They both agree that their dreams feel vividly real, so it made sense they would meet one day.
  • Moth Flight wonders if Micah is part of her journey.

  • Moth Flight wakes up in the barn and Cow and Mouse ask if she's hungry. She sees the moth and says that she has somewhere she needs to be, and that she'll catch something on the way.
    • Cow and Mouse try to stop her from leaving, and Moth Flight argues with them before Micah appears and tells his foster parents to let her go.
    • Moth Flight wants to go alone, but Micah insists on coming with her because of his dreams. Micah says goodbye to Cow, who is sad to see him go.
  • Moth Flight and Micah run after the moth, which leads them towards the woods. Moth Flight is excited to learn that Micah can also see the moth.

  • Moth Flight and Micah become cold and tired, and prepare to find a place to rest for the night. They find a hole in a cliff-face, and Moth Flight has a feeling that she needs to go in alone, though Micah offers to go with her.
  • Micah hunts for them, and Moth Flight eats before entering the tunnel and discovering a large stone. The moon strikes and illuminates it, and Moth Flight looks around for spirit-cats. She doesn't see any, but touches her nose to the stone.

  • Moth Flight opens her eyes to find herself surrounded by spirit-cats, including Gray Wing and Half Moon.
    • Half Moon says that they have been waiting for her, and that the spirit-cats know and watch over every cat
  • Moth Flight asks about the blue-gray cat from her dreams, but Half Moon doesn't know who she is. However, she reveals that they did send the moth to guide Moth Flight to them. She tells Moth Flight that she is special because of her dreams and connection to the spirit-cats.
  • Half Moon explains that the Clans will need medicine cats to learn about healing herbs and help to treat sickness and deliver kits.
  • Rainswept Flower warns Moth Flight that she must devote herself to her Clan, and Moon Shadow states that she must make Wind Runner listen to her, even if it is difficult.
  • Moth Flight learns that Dappled Pelt, Cloud Spots, Pebble Heart, and Micah will be the medicine cats for the other Clans. Half Moon tells her that she must announce this to the others and call for a meeting of the medicine cats at the next full moon.

  • Half Moon tells Moth Flight that this is her destiny, and that she must have faith in herself and work for her Clanmates' respect.
    • Moth Flight is worried that they will think she's crazy, and recalls how she was told she was a danger to her Clan.
    • Morning Whisker and Emberkit appear to reassure Moth Flight, telling her that Wind Runner will listen to her and wants to protect her, but that she's scared of losing more kits. They say that Moth Flight will feel the same way about her Clan one day.
  • Moth Flight begs for help in convincing the Clans, and Half Moon promises to send a sign.
  • Moth Flight receives a prophecy: We will split the sky. And later, stars will rise.

  • Moth Flight emerges from Mothermouth and tells Micah about her meeting with the spirit-cats. Micah reassures her when she expresses doubts about Wind Runner's love for her, and states that he could believe anything Moth Flight told him after dreaming about her since he was a kit.
    • Moth Flight tells him that she must become a medicine cat, along with Cloud Spots, Dappled Pelt, and Pebble Heart, but hesitates to reveal that Micah is also meant to be a medicine cat.
    • She expresses more doubts that the Clans won't believe her, but Micah tells her that she's wonderful and that they will believe her. Moth Flight tells him that he's meant to be SkyClan's medicine cat.
    • Micah describes Clear Sky, having seen him in a dream, and asks if he's the leader of SkyClan. He describes another dream in which he brought catmint to a sick kit, and he realizes that becoming a medicine cat is his destiny.
  • Micah reassures Moth Flight that they have nothing to fear.

  • The two cats hunt and cross a Thunderpath as they return to the territories. Moth Flight is reminded of Gorse Fur's near death and is momentarily distracted.
  • As they travel, Micah asks Moth Flight about the Clans, and she explains how they came to be separated and how they now live in separate territories.
  • They stop by the WindClan camp before heading to the Gathering. Moth Flight hesitates to enter Fourtrees, telling Micah that it would be easier to speak to Wind Runner before the others. Micah urges her on to enter the Gathering.
  • Tension grows between SkyClan and WindClan at the Gathering over trespassing and stolen prey. Willow Tail and Red Claw fuel the hostility.
  • Moth Flight interrupts the growing argument with an announcement, explaining that she and the other chosen cats were directed by StarClan to become medicine cats.
    • Tall Shadow, Clear Sky, Wind Runner, and others are doubtful of Moth Flight's claims, while River Ripple seems intrigued.
  • Dappled Pelt, Cloud Spots, and Pebble Heart reveal that they have all had dreams related to the Moonstone, herbs, or spirit-cats.
  • Moth Flight reveals the prophecy StarClan gave her, and a sudden bolt of lightning strikes a tree in the hollow, setting it on fire.

  • The fire dies down and River Ripple and Micah encourage Moth Flight to leap onto the leaders' rock and address the Clans.
  • Moth Flight explains how each Clan will have a medicine cat, and that they will find new herbs and cures and share their knowledge. There will be a meeting of medicine cats every half-moon at Highstones.
  • Clear Sky bickers with Wind Runner and Moth Flight over being forced to take Micah into his Clan. He agrees to accept Micah if he can cure Tiny Branch's sickness.
  • The other leaders accept and announce their new medicine cats.
    • Wind Runner and Moth Flight reconcile their earlier conflict.
  • Moth Flight and Micah tell each other they they will miss each other, but they will see each other every half-moon at the Moonstone.
  • The moth appears and lands on Moth Flight's nose before flying away, and Moth Flight wonders if it is saying goodbye.

  • A medicine cat den has been constructed in the WindClan camp.
    • Moth Flight is frustrated by the presence of Silver Stripe and Black Ear, and resolves to tell Slate that another cat will need to watch her kits now that Moth Flight is medicine cat.
  • Moth Flight notices that cats have been more respectful towards her since she became a medicine cat.
  • Reed Tail asks Moth Flight if she needs help, and the kits suggest that Reed Tail would make a better medicine cat than Moth Flight when she misidentifies an herb. She agrees, but Reed Tail reassures her that she was chosen for a reason.
  • Rocky moves into Moth Flight's den so she can treat him and monitor his illness.
    • She realizes she will need catmint to treat his cough, and that she can find it in Twolegplace.
    • Dust Muzzle and Spotted Fur go with her.
    • Moth Flight is chased by a Twoleg, but escapes, and they successfully return to camp with the catmint.
  • Micah visits the WindClan camp and announces that he has cured Tiny Branch.
    • Wind Runner is displeased about his presence, and warns Moth Flight that traveling close to Clear Sky's territory to visit the Twolegplace could cause conflict between the Clans.
    • They visit Rocky, and Moth Flight realizes that she gave him too much catmint, causing him to act strangely playful.
    • Micah reveals that Clear Sky has assigned Acorn Fur to be his assistant and to keep an eye on him. He says that she's nice, and Moth Flight feels a bit jealous. She worries that Micah is being treated like a hostage.
    • Acorn Fur arrives to tell Micah they need more catmint for Tiny Branch, and the two leave together.

  • The medicine cats meet at Highstones for a half-moon meeting.
    • Micah remarks that meeting Moth Flight and joining the Clans was the best thing that ever happened to him.
  • They touch their noses to the Moonstone and see Half Moon in the spirit-cat hunting grounds.
  • Moth Flight names the spirit-cats StarClan.
  • StarClan encourages the medicine cats to share their knowledge with each other.
  • When they awaken, Micah, Cloud Spots, Dappled Pelt, and Pebble Heart share discoveries they have made about healing.
    • Moth Flight has nothing to share, and feels embarrassed.
    • Micah proposes that the medicine cats should travel to each others' camps in order to learn what they know.
    • Moth Flight and Micah will be the first to visit, traveling to RiverClan's camp.
  • Moth Flight tells Wind Runner what occurred at the Moonstone, and Wind Runner is unsure that Clear Sky will let Micah travel to RiverClan.

  • Spotted Fur protests at the idea of Moth Flight traveling to RiverClan with Micah, suggesting that she go by herself or with another medicine cat.
    • Dust Muzzle tells him that Moth Flight can go with whomever she likes.
    • The discussion catches the attention of other WindClan warriors, who worry about Moth Flight going to RiverClan. Wind Runner defends the idea of sharing knowledge between medicine cats.
    • Jagged Peak accuses Moth Flight of disloyalty, and Wind Runner defends her.
  • Moth Flight and Micah arrive in RiverClan territory.
    • Micah was able to persuade Clear Sky to let him go, although the leader wasn't happy about it.
    • Micah thinks that Tiny Branch's illness is being aggravated by something in the forest, but can't follow him to find out what it is because Acorn Fur is always watching him.
    • Night and Dawn Mist escort Moth Flight and Micah into the camp, where they meet Dawn Mist's kits.
    • Dappled Pelt shows them her herb store.
    • Night yowls that Drizzle has fallen into the river and isn't breathing.

  • Dappled Pelt pumps Drizzle's chest to force her to cough up water. Dawn Mist promises to teach Drizzle to swim as soon as she's recovered, and warms her up.
    • Dappled Pelt explains to Moth Flight that River Ripple taught her the technique she used to save Drizzle, and believes that every RiverClan cat should know it.
  • Moth Flight and Micah share tongues and later share a nest in Dappled Pelt's den.
    • Moth Flight dreams of a dark tabby tom and a gray tom at the Moonstone, meeting with spirit-cats. They each approach the dark tabby tom and seem to cause him pain as they touch him and chant. One tom breaks off the chant with a gaze full of dread.
  • Moth Flight awakes, frightened, but Micah reassures her that she is safe.

  • Dappled Pelt states that she has taught Moth Flight and Micah everything she knows, and that it's time for them to move on.
    • They say goodbye to the RiverClan cats they've grown close to.
    • Moth Flight worries that she should be getting back to RiverClan, but they decide to visit Cloud Spots in ThunderClan next.
  • They meet Cloud Spots on their way to the ThunderClan camp and help him to gather borage.
    • The ThunderClan cats greet them kindly, and Thunder says he is honored by their visit.
    • Cloud Spots shows them his den and explains his use of herbs.
  • Moth Flight shares a nest with Micah again, and she tries to memorize the names of herbs before Micah encourages her to get some sleep. She thinks that she could get used to sleeping beside him every night.

  • Moth Flight dreams of sharing a nest with Micah and four kits, but Micah and then the kits disappear.
  • She is awoken by Spotted Fur calling her name. He says that WindClan needs her and Rocky is gravely ill, and is angry that she wasn't in RiverClan like she said.
  • Moth Flight and Micah go to the WindClan camp to treat Rocky.
    • Wind Runner disapproves of Micah's presence, and states that Willow Tail has found a WindClan rabbit dead on SkyClan territory.
  • The medicine cats recall a tree on SkyClan territory which Cloud Spots mentioned was good for curing infection, and hope that it will help Rocky.
    • Micah climbs the tree to get the bark, while Moth Flight stands at the base.
    • Clear Sky approaches and argues with Moth Flight for trespassing. He claws her muzzle and tells Micah to get down from the tree.
    • Red Claw arrives and climbs the tree to stop Micah. Willow Tail then enters the clearing and chases Red Claw up the tree.
    • Micah brings the bark down to Moth Flight before climbing back up to stop Willow Tail and Red Claw from fighting.
    • A branch collapses beneath the three of them. Willow Tail and Red Claw grab on to other branches and are uninjured, but Micah falls to the ground and the branch lands on top of him, breaking his spine.
    • Moth Flight and Micah confess their love to each other as Micah dies. Micah thanks her for helping to make sense of his life and his destiny and for bringing him to the Clans. Moth Flight collapses with grief.

  • Moth Flight awakens after staying beside Micah's body for the entire night.
    • Wind Runner tells her that Reed Tail has brought the bark to Rocky.
    • She also says that they need to bury Micah's body. Moth Flight protests, but follows her leader and a group of SkyClan cats who carry Micah to the burial spot.
    • Moth Flight lashes out at Red Claw, Willow Tail, and Clear Sky over Micah's death, and Star Flower attempts to comfort her.
    • She reflects on how Micah had asked her to be his mate on their first night in RiverClan and wonders if StarClan would have allowed them to act as travelling medicine cats to both SkyClan and WindClan.
    • Pebble Heart convinces Moth Flight and Wind Runner to have the medicine cat come and stay with him in the ShadowClan camp while she recovers.
    • Tall Shadow and Sun Shadow welcome her to ShadowClan, and Sun Shadow lends her his den.
  • Moth Flight dreams of a dark gray she-cat and an orange tom at the Moonstone.
    • The StarClan cats touch noses with him, and Moth Flight wonders about the meaning of the ceremony.
    • She looks around for Micah, but doesn't see him. She lashes out and dispels the dream, causing her to awaken.

  • Pebble Heart brings Moth Flight food and water, but she refuses the food, saying that if she doesn't eat, she can join Micah in StarClan.
    • Pebble Heart tells her that she's important and must stay alive.
    • She tells him about her recurring dreams about the ceremony at the Moonstone.
  • Moth Flight falls back asleep and dreams about seeing Micah in a foggy field, but he cannot see or hear her.
  • Sun Shadow takes Moth Flight hunting and explains how he felt lost when he first came to the forest, but he now feels at home with the territory and his Clanmates.
    • Moth Flight purrs at Sun Shadow's joke, but feels guilty for purring so soon after Micah's death, and quickly returns to her nest to sleep alone.

  • Moth Flight has another dream about Micah in the foggy meadow. She still cannot reach or speak to him, but he reassures her that things will be okay and that she must keep going.
  • Pebble Heart fetches Moth Flight to tell her that Juniper Branch has started kitting, but the kits are stuck.
    • With Moth Flight's help, Juniper Branch delivers three kits, but one is not breathing.
    • Moth Flight performs the same technique Dappled Pelt used on Drizzle to pump water out of the kit's chest, and the kit starts breathing.
  • Moth Flight returns to her own nest, once again filled with grief over the loss of Micah and the family they could have had.

  • Moth Flight helps Pebble Heart gather nettles.
    • He tells her she was missed at the previous night's Moonstone meeting.
    • Moth Flight tells him that she was tired, but that she wanted to go and that she will not stop being a medicine cat.
    • Pebble Heart says that Half Moon was at the meeting, and that Acorn Fur is now SkyClan's medicine cat.
    • He reveals that he had dreams about Acorn Fur healing SkyClan cats, which upsets Moth Flight.
  • Cow and Mouse arrive, having heard about Micah's death, and give Moth Flight their condolences. The medicine cats lead them back to the ShadowClan camp.
  • Moth Flight realizes she is pregnant with Micah's kits, and the cats around her already knew.
    • She decides she must return to WindClan, and Pebble Heart offers to escort her.

  • Pebble Heart goes with Moth Flight back to WindClan territory.
    • They spot a SkyClan patrol, and Moth Flight becomes enraged over Clear Sky's aggressive defense of his borders, which she feels lead to Micah's death.
  • Moth Flight reunites with her Clanmates.
    • They're all happy to see her, besides Holly and Jagged Peak, who disapprove of Moth Flight having kits with Micah.
    • Storm Pelt defends Moth Flight to his parents.
  • Moth Flight goes into labor, and Wind Runner and Slate help her to deliver four kits while someone runs to fetch Pebble Heart.
    • He arrives after the kits have already been delivered, and looks over Moth Flight and the kits to ensure they are healthy. Wind Runner invites him to stay the night in case he's needed.
    • Moth Flight feels truly happy and full of love for the first time since Micah's death.

  • Moth Flight dreams about Micah, who tells her she will soon have a visitor she needs to help. She realizes that Micah is in StarClan.
  • Moth Flight is constantly worried about the safety of her kits, Bubbling Stream, Honey Pelt, Blue Whisker, and Spider Paw, even though her Clanmates and especially Slate help to look after them.
    • Reed Tail has taken on most of Moth Flight's medicine cat duties while she's caring for the kits.
  • Dappled Pelt and Acorn Fur are escorted into WindClan's camp by Wind Runner and Jagged Peak, who accuse SkyClan of stealing prey and begin a heated argument. Moth Flight tells them to stop arguing and meets with Dappled Pelt and Acorn Fur, who want to learn medicine cat skills from her in secret.
  • Moth Flight reveals the secret to Wind Runner, who is hostile but allows the training to continue. Clear Sky puts an end to it by forbidding Acorn Fur from continuing to meet with Moth Flight.
  • Moth Flight enters SkyClan territory in search of Acorn Fur, but Sparrow Fur sends her away.

  • At a Gathering, Wind Runner declares that the Clans should turn their backs on SkyClan.
    • Clear Sky is not present at the Gathering, and Thunder and River Ripple argue that he should be allowed to defend himself.
    • Wind Runner forbids Acorn Fur from attending the medicine cat meetings.
  • Sparrow Fur arrives at the Gathering to say that Tiny Branch has been bitten by a fox, and she calls for help from a medicine cat.
    • Wind Runner forbids Moth Flight from going and Shattered Ice blocks her path, but Dust Muzzle and River Ripple convince them to let her go.
  • The medicine cats all attempt to treat Tiny Branch, but he dies of his injuries.

    • Slate is exhausted, and when she falls asleep for a moment, Blue Whisker attempts to climb the tall rock and falls off.
    • Moth Flight is very concerned, but Blue Whisker is uninjured, and the other kits confess to having climbed the rock under Rocky's supervision during the Gathering.
    • Wind Runner comes to check on Blue Whisker, and she has a heated argument with Moth Flight over the conflict with SkyClan.
  • Slate comes down with redcough, and Moth Flight and Spotted Fur go to fetch bark from the tree on SkyClan's territory.
    • They get the bark, but are caught by a patrol, and Clear Sky decides to hold them captive in SkyClan's camp until Wind Runner comes to retrieve them.
    • Clear Sky explains that Willow Tail has been trying to settle a score with Red Claw, and has agitated the border conflict in the process.

  • Moth Flight proposes an escape plan, but Spotted Fur turns it down.
    • They discuss whether or not Willow Tail lied about SkyClan stealing prey.
    • Moth Flight hopes that Wind Runner won't send a patrol to rescue them, and worries that it will cause a battle.
    • Acorn Fur brings the prisoners water, and Moth Flight sends her to fetch the other medicine cats to reason with Clear Sky.
    • Spotted Fur apologizes for his jealousy over Moth Flight's relationship with Micah. Moth Flight thinks Spotted Fur is still in love with her, and she tells him he's a good friend.
  • WindClan launches an attack on the SkyClan camp.

  • Wind Runner, Willow Tail, Gorse Fur, and other WindClan cats fight with SkyClan.
  • Moth Flight pleads them to stop fighting, but the warriors won't listen to her.
    • She fetches cobwebs in an attempt to injuries on both sides.
  • Clear Sky and Wind Runner fight, and the two argue over Moth Flight being held hostage and Tiny Branch's death.
    • Wind Runner's leg breaks.
  • Clear Sky blinds Willow Tail.
    • Willow Tail explains that she lied about the prey stealing because Red Claw killed her friend, Beech.
    • Red Claw tells her it was an accident, and that he was trying to escape from dogs but lead them straight to Beech.
    • Moth Flight comforts Willow Tail as she dies, and convinces the Clan leaders to end the conflict.
  • The other medicine cats arrive and help to heal the wounded.

  • Moth Flight dreams of a ceremony centered around a brown-and-white tabby she-cat.
    • Various cats touch noses with the she-cat, including a cat who looks very similar to her who Moth Flight concludes is her mother.
  • Moth Flight awakens to find Wind Runner burning with fever, and worries about infection in a wound in her neck.
  • Honey Pelt asks Moth Flight to play with him and his siblings, but she guiltily sends him away so she can focus on caring for Wind Runner.
  • She leaves Gorse Fur to watch Wind Runner while she goes to find Dappled Pelt and ask for advice.
    • Her kits ask her to play again as she leaves camp, but she doesn't have time.
    • In RiverClan territory, she sees the kits attempting to cross the river on a stepping stone.
    • Spider Paw falls into the water, and Moth Flight dives in to save him.
    • She performs the same chest-pumping technique to remove the water from his lungs that was used on Drizzle and Juniper Branch's kit.
    • She brings the kits back to camp.
  • Moth Flight leaves again and runs into Dappled Pelt, who tells her that some wounds are too severe to treat with any poultice.
    • The moth appears again and Dappled Pelt encourages Moth Flight to follow it.

  • Moth Flight realizes that the moth wants her to bring Wind Runner to the Moonstone.
  • The kits ask to play with Moth Flight again when she rushes back to camp, but she's still busy trying to save Wind Runner.
  • Gorse Fur and Jagged Peak argue that Moth Flight can't bring Wind Runner to Highstones, or she will die far from her Clan.
    • Dust Muzzle and Wind Runner herself support Moth Flight's plan, and Gorse Fur relents.
  • Dust Muzzle and Spotted Fur help Moth Flight bring their leader to Highstones.

  • Moth Flight, Dust Muzzle, Spotted Fur, and Wind Runner arrive at Highstones. Moth Flight tells the others to wait outside while she drags Wind Runner through the tunnel to the Moonstone.
  • The moon illuminates the stone and Micah's spirit appears. He reassures Moth Flight and tells her that one day she will gather the petals of the blazing star.
  • More StarClan warriors appear around the Moonstone, including Gray Wing, who praises Moth Flight.
  • The first ever leadership ceremony is performed on Wind Runner, and she is given the name Windstar. She receives lives from Gray Wing, Petal, Turtle Tail, Branch, Willow Tail, Morning Whisker, Emberkit and Half Moon, and Half Moon explains that her lives will allow her to die eight more times before joining StarClan.

  • Moth Flight feels torn between caring for her kits and caring for her Clanmates.
  • Windstar seems to have fully recovered from her injuries. She has told Gorsefur about her nine lives, and he has traveled to the other Clan's camps to share the news.
  • At a medicine cat meeting, they reveal to each other that all of the Clan leaders have received the -star suffix and nine lives from StarClan.
  • Acorn Fur reveals that she is in love with Red Claw, and Moth Flight argues with her that taking a mate will get in the way of her medicine cat duties.
  • Moth Flight realizes that she cannot handle being a mother and a medicine cat at the same time. She resolves to give up her kits.

  • Moth Flight and her kits arrive at Fourtrees, where Moth Flight explains her plan to give each of them to a different Clan.
  • The kits are reluctant to leave her, but Moth Flight explains the history of the Clans, the blazing star prophecy, and that by following StarClan's wishes and going to different Clans, the kits will bring peace to the Clans.
  • Blue Whisker goes with Thunderstar, Bubbling Stream goes with Shadowstar, Honey Pelt goes with Skystar, and Spider Paw goes with Riverstar.
  • Micah's spirit appears to Moth Flight and tells her that she did the right thing. Moth Flight swears to do her best as WindClan's medicine cat.

  • The medicine cats gather at the Moonstone, and Moth Flight reflects on her choice to give up her kits.
  • Half Moon assures her that it was the right decision, and tells all the medicine cats that their first duty must be to StarClan and their Clan, forbidding them from taking a mate or having kits.
  • Acorn Fur is reluctant to make this promise, protesting that she could serve her Clan even if she had a mate and kits, but ultimately agrees.
  • Moth Flight exchanges a sorrowful look with Micah's spirit, deciding that they can no longer be together, even in dreams.

  • Moth Flight is treating Drizzle's injured leg.
  • Spider Paw arrives with herbs for Moth Flight and asks her why she wasn't at the Gathering. She explains that Owl Song was nervous about her kitting, and asks if her daughter, Blue Whisker was there. Spider Paw responds that she would never miss drama.
  • Moth Flight decides to visit the ThunderClan camp to check on Blue Whisker and how her kitting is coming along.
    • She meets Thunderstar, who explains that Blue Whisker is kitting and asks for her help. Moth Flight agrees to help.
  • Moth Flight enters the ThunderClan nursery, requesting nearby cats to fetch her daughter water soaked moss.
  • Blue Whisker has a healthy kitting, and she gives birth to three kits.
    • While watching the newborns, Moth Flight remembers her own kitting, and she then wonders how much she missed out on by giving up her kits.
  • To Moth Flight's joy, her other daughter, Bubbling Stream, shows up.
  • Bubbling Stream explains to her mother that Honey Pelt is outside demonstrating leaps.
    • Moth Flight thinks about how Micah would do the same thing.
  • Honey Pelt notices Moth Flight in the clearing and joyfully runs up to her. He makes a joke that her fur is turning gray.
    • His mother reveals that she's expecting to join StarClan soon, which shocks her kits.
  • She sees the moth and, after telling her kits how proud of them she is, follows it, thinking that she'll be with Micah soon.
