Nettle is a brown tabby tom[5] with long, spiky fur.[3]

Nettle served under Darktail as part of the Kin during the fall of ShadowClan. When the Kin are driven from the lake territories, Nettle flees the lake with some other rogues and a couple former ShadowClan cats. However, Yarrowleaf, one of the former ShadowClan cats who fled with the rogues, becomes pregnant with Nettle’s kits and flees to ShadowClan to beg for shelter. Nettle, Raven, and Sleekwhisker follow her and kidnap the kits, Hopkit and Flaxkit, after they are born. Cats from ShadowClan and SkyClan take back the kits, and Nettle kills Rowanclaw but later dies from his wounds sustained in the resulting battle.

After a plan is made by Rowanclaw, he leaps up at Nettle as Tawnypelt and Yarrowleaf grab Hopkit and Flaxkit and run off. Sleekwhisker joins in the fight between her former leader and the brown tabby rogue. Some time during the battle with Rowanclaw, Nettle is killed, and his body lies half submerged in a pool of water, blood staining the water red.
