Nightheart is a sleek, black she-cat with one white paw, a white spot on her shoulder, and green eyes.[1]
In The Sun Trail, Clear Sky and Gray Wing climb to the top of an outcrop of stones when Nightheart jumps out at them and growls, saying that they are her rocks. She gets angry at them, saying they do not belong there. She then swims away, surprising the brothers, and Gray Wing purrs that she should meet Falling Feather. Later, Nightheart, Petal, and Leaf attack Moon Shadow when the black tom catches a squirrel in the forest. When mountain cats appear to aid their friend, the rogues stop the battle, and it is noted that they are scarred. Nightheart recognizes Gray Wing from the previous meeting on the rocks and glares angrily at him and Clear Sky, growling that they do not belong in the forest and should return to the mountains. After Leaf and Petal threaten Moon Shadow and his friends, Nightheart waves her tail and leaves with them.
In the bonus scene, Petal mentions to Fox how she, Nightheart and Leaf jumped on Moon Shadow, who had caught a squirrel. The tom's friends had come to back him up in the fight, and Petal had no choice but to aid Nightheart and Leaf.
