Chapter description[]
- Onestar sits in the hollow on the moor, awaiting StarClan's verdict on his acceptance. At last, he spots Tallstar approaching him, expression unreadable, and he grows nervous at the thought of going to the Dark Forest. Tallstar asks if he has reflected, and Onestar solemnly replies that he has realized that he has done many shameful things but has worked hard to make amends. The black-and-white tom responds that he is honorable and has earned his place in StarClan. Onestar is shocked, and the older cat tells him that he kept WindClan safe in the end. Onestar emotionally thinks about how he will be able to watch Heathertail and her kits, see the lake thrive once again, and reunite with Firestar. Tallstar beckons him forward, saying that it is time to rest.
