Owl is a member of the Cats of the Park. After Twolegs destroy their home, River Ripple assumes Owl and the other park cats are gone, though he remembers them fondly. Moons later, Owl has a daughter, Finch. Slash and his rogues take over the Cats of the Park, so Arc leaves to fetch help, bringing back Riverstar and Drizzle. Arc mentions that Slash has been demanding prey and he and the other elders have gone into hiding for protection. Squirrel notes how they've been sneaking the elders prey and Owl has been doing his best to contribute despite his failing eyesight.

The battle against Slash and his rogues turns into the rogues' favor, and Slash finds the elders and takes Owl hostage. After Riverstar recovers from his lost life, Slash takes Owl hostage again and threatens to throw him over the waterfall. Finch rescues her father and Slash falls over the edge. After Slash's defeat, Owl, Rust, and Midge recover in the elders' den. When Riverstar asks Finch to accompany him back to RiverClan, Finch explains that she cannot leave her family. When Finch decides to join Riverstar and Drizzle back to their island as their log raft drifts away, Owl watches from the shore with hope filled eyes.
