"Often prophecies are only clear after they've come true."
Leafpool in Bramblestar's Storm, page 269

Prophecies and omens are dreams and signs given by StarClan to leaders, medicine cats, and sometimes to other Clan members as well, to foretell the future and warn them about incoming events.[1] This page lists prophecies and omens from the Super Editions.

Prophecies[]

Moth Flight's Vision[]

We will split the sky[]

Prophecy: "We will split the sky. And later, stars will rise."[2]
Sign: Message from StarClan to Moth Flight[2]
Interpreter: Moth Flight[2]
Meaning: StarClan sends a bolt of lightning across the sky during a Gathering to show that Moth Flight is telling the truth about medicine cats.[3] The stars that rose were the leaders receiving their nine lives, with Wind Runner being the first.[4]
Reference: Moth Flight's Vision

StormClan's Folly[]

The lake without end[]

Prophecy: "You speak of warnings...I give you one now. I have seen it in the moon-touched water—the place where the land falls away. Here begins the lake without end. It is a place of dangers. Do not end your journey there."[5]
Sign: Message from Stoneteller to Stripestar and Galestar[5]
Interpreter: Stripestar and Galestar[5]
Meaning: StormClan is not meant to settle at the sun-drown-place.[6]
Reference: StormClan's Folly

Fish with legs[]

Prophecy: "Watch for the fish with legs. It will show you the way. Heed its warning."[5]
Sign: Message from Stoneteller to Stripestar and Galestar[5]
Interpreter: Stripestar and Galestar[5]
Meaning: Starfish—orange shapes buried in the sand, with five legs that spread like petals of a flower—wash up on the shore of the sun-drown-place. Their presence indicates that a storm is coming, which rolls in right after their discovery, injuring multiple StormClan cats.[7]

Tallstar's Revenge[]

There will be a warrior whose loyalty to WindClan will waver[]

Prophecy: "There will be a warrior whose loyalty to WindClan will waver. A cat who will have to seek far beyond the confines of your territory to discover where his heart truly lies."[8]
Sign: Message from Moth Flight[8]
Interpreter: Heatherstar[8]
Meaning: Talltail leaves WindClan when he is a young warrior to find Sparrow and get his revenge.[9] He also leaves to discover where he truly belongs.[10]
Reference: Tallstar's Revenge

Yellowfang's Secret[]

A storm of blood and fire[]

Prophecy: "A poison will spring from the heart of ShadowClan, and spread to the other Clans. A storm of blood and fire will sweep the forest."[11]
Sign: Message from Molepelt[11]
Interpreter: Featherpaw
Meaning: Yellowfang, the future ShadowClan medicine cat, becomes mates with Raggedstar[12] and gives birth to Brokenstar,[13] who nearly destroys the Clans, and trains kits below six moons.[14]
Reference: Yellowfang's Secret

Bluestar's Prophecy[]

Like fire, you will blaze through the forest[]

Prophecy: "Like fire, you will blaze through the forest . . . but beware— even the most powerful of flames can be destroyed by water."[15]
Sign: Burning branch[16]
Interpreter: Goosefeather
Meaning: Bluestar becomes leader and bring peace to ThunderClan.[17] Her power is shown greatly, just like fire blazing throughout a forest, like the prophecy foretells it. However, she dies on her last life by drowning in the gorge.[18] It was also a warning that her relationship with Oakheart ("beware" and "water") would have ruined her chances of becoming leader, and a sign about taking Rusty (the most powerful of flames) into ThunderClan. She only avoided this fate by giving up her kits.[blog 1][19]
Reference: Bluestar's Prophecy

A thistle has thorns[]

Prophecy: "A thistle has thorns as sharp as claws, don't let Whitekit get hurt by them."[20]
Sign: Message from Goosefeather to Bluefur[21]
Interpreters: Goosefeather and Bluefur[21]
Meaning: Bluefur should keep Whitekit away from Thistleclaw, as he is dangerous, and will provide a battle-hungry influence for the little kit. When Bluefur succeeds, Whitestorm becomes a loyal and wise ThunderClan warrior.[22]
Reference: Bluestar's Prophecy

That kit should have never survived[]

Prophecy: "I'm sorry, StarClan. That cat should have not survived. This was never meant to happen."[23]
Sign: Message from Goosefeather to StarClan[23]
Interpreters: Goosefeather and Bluefur[23]
Meaning: Tigerkit should have died along with his siblings. He was never meant to survive, as he does terrible things to the forest later on.[23][24] This is proven to be true, as Tigerstar brings war to the forest with BloodClan, becoming too ambitious and almost wiping out the Clans altogether.[25]

Onestar's Confession[]

The hunter[]

Prophecy: "There is something that must be done, and only you can do it. You will know it, when it comes hunting you."[26]

Meaning: Onewhisker must kill his son, Darktail. He will know when it is time when Darktail comes back for revenge.[27][28]
Reference: Onestar's Confession

It will cost you dearly[]

Prophecy: "I see darkness approaching the Clans, and I am afraid the darkness might win. Onestar, you are pulling this darkness like a dog being pulled by a vine. […] It has already begun, and only you can stop it, when it comes hunting you. […] You have the power within you, Onestar, but it will cost you dearly."[29]
Interpreter: Stoneteller[29]
Meaning: Darktail is coming soon. In order to defeat him, Onestar must sacrifice his last life.[27][28][30]
Reference: Onestar's Confession

Firestar's Quest[]

Kin of your kin[]

Prophecy: "There will be three, kin of your kin, who hold the power of the stars in their paws."[31]
Sign: Message from Skywatcher[31]
Interpreter: Firestar[32]
Meaning: This prophecy tells of the arrival of three cats more powerful than any before them, and that they are related to Firestar. They are later revealed to be Jayfeather and Lionblaze, Firestar's grandsons, and Dovewing, Firestar's great-grand-niece.[33] However, this prophecy happens before the birth of the Three, so it takes a while for Firestar to figure out who the Three are.[34]

SkyClan's Destiny[]

Deeper roots[]

Interpreter: Leafstar[37]
Meaning: That SkyClan needs to have more "connections" and needs to thrive if it is to survive the test of time.[38]

Bramblestar's Storm[]

When water meets blood[]

Prophecy: "When water meets blood, blood will rise."[39]
Sign: Message from Firestar[39]
Interpreter: Bramblestar[40]
Meaning: Bramblestar and Tawnypelt share the blood bond of siblings. They rise above the rules of the warrior code by interfering with rival Clans, and when danger from the flood, kittypets, and badgers threaten both their Clans, their bond gives them the strength to overcome those obstacles.[40]

Sign: Message from StarClan to Cinderpelt[59]
Interpreter: Cinderpelt[59]
Meaning: Graystripe needs to make his own decision on Gremlin and BloodClan.[59] Graystripe later deduces that the snake's bite part of the prophecy referred to him bewaring the BloodClan warrior, Snake. If Graystripe killed Snake in the battle with BloodClan, then Gremlin and her unborn kits would have died, and the battle would have continued.[60]
Reference: Graystripe's Vow

Stripestar's dreams[]

Omen: "It had felt so frightening, though he couldn't say exactly why. There had been a mountain in the dream, too. Staring at it, he had felt a deep sense of dread. He had seen other visions as well, images that were strangely disconnected from each other. A white gull circling against a dark, stormy sky, swooping behind jagged mountain peaks, then out against the clouds once more. And stranger still, a rock with legs. Five of them, orange-gold as sunset and reaching out like the petals of a flower. But was it a rock? He could have sworn he saw it move, but he couldn't be sure. Was this the fish with legs Stoneteller had spoken of?"[69]
Sign: Dream[70]
Interpreter: Stripestar[70]

Sign: Dream[72]
Interpreter: Goldenleaf[72]

Reference: StormClan's Folly

Goldenleaf's dreams of the sun-drown-place[]

Omen: Goldenleaf dreams of Kestrelwing showing her the sun-drown-place. All of StormClan is there playing on the sand, including three kits. A sudden greenleaf storm sends a bolt of lightning into the sky, which is the symbol for StormClan.[73]
Sign: Dream[74]
Interpreter: Goldenleaf[74]
Meaning: StormClan interprets it as a sign from Kestrelwing that their new home is at the sun-drown-place, especially since Kestrelwing predicted Galestar's unannounced litter.[75] However, the sun-drown-place proves to be inhabitable,[76] plus Stoneteller's earlier warnings to avoid the sun-drown-place.[5]

The river splits into two streams[]

Omen: "I stood beside a dried-up river running through a forest. The water was dirty, no more than a trickle, and the muddy banks were parched and cracked. I felt sad to look upon it. But as I strolled its course, I saw the river split in two. The farther I walked, the clearer the water ran. The trickle became a flood, until at last both streams ran high with sparkling pure water, the cleanest and freshest I had ever seen."[77]
Sign: Dream[77]

Tigerheart's Shadow[]

Omen: A bright sun shines over the ShadowClan camp, creating strong, long and dark shadows. Tigerheart stands at the edge of the clearing, and the shadow he casts is long and black, far darker that any other in the camp, while at the same time, at the other side of the camp, Rowanstar's figure dissolves into milky light.[109]
Interpreter: Tigerheart[109]

Interpreter: Puddleshine and Tigerheart[111]
Meaning: Same as "Tigerheart's Shadow."[112] Tigerheart wrongly assumes that his father Rowanstar is the sun, and that the vision means that he needs to leave ShadowClan because he is undermining Rowanstar's leadership.[112]
Reference: Tigerheart's Shadow

A Tree Falls[]

Omen: A vision of a tree falling, cutting through a shadow, revealing light inside of it.[113]
Interpreter: Tigerheart and Spiresight[113]
Meaning: Unknown, but Tigerheart suspects that the vision could be a warning that something happened to his father, Rowanstar, because he was named after a rowan tree.[114]

Interpreter: Kestrelflight[118]
Meaning: The white stoats living in the tunnels are a threat to WindClan, who cannot get rid of them on their own. They need the help of the other three Clans to defeat them permanently, or else the stoats would have overwhelmed them and taken over their territory.[118] Onestar later assumes the vision to mean Darktail returning for revenge.[119]
