In Path of Stars, after Slash accuses Violet of being a weak hunter, the she-cat tells him that he wouldn't be acting this way if Rain were still alive. Slash snorts, asking her what difference it would've made, claiming that he was so dumb he got himself killed on the Thunderpath. Violet retorts he was never dumb, but Slash says that his only smart choice was taking her as a mate. Slash tells Violet to get smart and become his mate, saying that if she would, the she-cat would never go hungry again. Violet refuses and leaves to hunt in Twolegplace with Red, Juniper, and Raven.
