"What did we really gain by moving to the lake? What kind of leader have I been?"
This article contains major spoilers for the recently released book, The Elders' Quest. Please proceed at your own discretion.
"We were tracking that squirrel across SkyClan territory. It only veered into ShadowClan at the last moment. And we chased it for fox-lengths! Why should our hard work be wasted because the squirrel decided to turn in a different direction? […] What did you think? That you got lucky and a squirrel just happened to jump into your paws?"
— Ridgeglow to Tawnypelt in The Elders' Quest, page 199

Ridgeglow is a reddish[1]-auburn[3] she-cat with a white nose.[1]

Ridgeglow is a SkyClan warrior under Leafstar's leadership in the lake territories. She was born to Blossomheart and Harrybrook as Ridgekit alongside her littermate, Duskkit. As a kit, she was stolen by RiverClan under Splashtail's orders. After earning her warrior name, Ridgeglow, she fell in love with Birchfeather of ShadowClan, who joined SkyClan to be with her.

History[]

In the A Starless Clan arc[]

River[]

Ridgekit is a SkyClan kit born to Blossomheart and Harrybrook alongside her brother, Duskkit.

Star[]

"You smell like RiverClan. Are you here to steal us too?"
―Ridgekit to Frostpaw Star, page 144
After hearing a kit squeal, Nightheart leaves Duskfur and Mothwing to investigate and recognizes the kit's scent as SkyClan. Sneezecloud and Fognose quarrel about stealing the kits, and Fognose insists they will feel better when they get RiverClan's nursery. Ridgekit tries to escape but is pinned by Sneezecloud. Nightheart surprises Sneezecloud and Fognose, giving Duskkit and Ridgekit an opening to escape. Nightheart tells them to follow the lake to ThunderClan where a patrol can find them. After realizing Fognose could easily track them down, Nightheart offers himself in their place as RiverClan's prisoner.
When Mothwing and Duskfur are brought to ThunderClan, Frostpaw notices Duskkit and Ridgekit chewing on a mouse behind them. The two tell Frostpaw their names, and Ridgekit asks questions as the Clans decide what to do. Soon after, Duskfur explains how she came across the kits, and Squirrelstar sends a patrol to alert Leafstar of Ridgekit and Duskkit's safety. In RiverClan, Nightheart tries to sway Fognose with questions about whether she stole the kits to avoid a cruel name from Splashtail. Sparkpelt finds Sunbeam in ShadowClan and explains that Nightheart stopped RiverClan warriors from stealing SkyClan's kits. When Nightheart finds Sunbeam, he learns that Ridgekit and Duskkit made it safely to Mothwing and Duskfur.
While in a vision, Frostpaw sees down into the SkyClan nursery where Blossomheart is reunited with and comforting her kits.

In the Changing Skies arc[]

The Elders' Quest[]

"You try hunting on SkyClan territory these days and then say [you'll find something else]."
―Ridgeglow to Tawnypelt The Elders' Quest, page 201
She is now a warrior named Ridgeglow. While on a border patrol with Tawnypelt, Birchfeather confesses his love for Ridgeglow and admits they have been secretly meeting. Birchfeather announces to Tigerstar and Dovewing that he intends to move to SkyClan for Ridgeglow, which is met with disapproval from both. When SkyClan votes on Leafstar's deposition, Ridgeglow coerces Birchfeather to vote against her. Hawkwing yells at her for this, and Leafstar is anguished that even her own kin are against her. Afterwards, Birchfeather meets with Tawnypelt; he tells her that his relationship with Ridgeglow is going great when she asks about her. Tawnypelt proposes that he return to ShadowClan after he confesses their ongoing issues, but Birchfeather says he could never abandon Ridgeglow and gushes about their love.
Later, Ridgeglow and Tawnypelt encounter each other on patrol in an argument over prey. Tawnypelt argues that the prey ran over into ShadowClan territory and was now hers, and Ridgeglow argues back that she chased it over there. As they continue to bicker, Ridgeglow escalates and leaps onto Tawnypelt, pinning her down before Tawnypelt rakes her claws across her and knocks her off. Birchfeather interjects, and Ridgeglow reminds him how much they need prey for the Clan, as they were sent out together to find it for his task to join. She continues to argue with Tawnypelt over the squirrel before they eventually leave.
