Prologue

• Dawnpelt sits in Starclan, talking to other dead Kin
• They mention Shadowclan ending
• Some blame Rowanclaw for Darktail's appearence, the cats argue
• A new cat appears, called Shadowstar, and tells the cats that there must be five clans
• She then says, "If the fifth clan is not saved, worse things will come than a storm."

Chapter One

• Twigpaw and Finpaw are heading to Thunderclan camp
• They keep stopping because Finpaw wants to explore
• They see Sparkpelt and call out to her. She doesn't want to talk to them
• Sparkpelt brings them both to camp, Twigpaw says she want to come back
• Bramblestar tells her about Graystripe, he decides to allow them back to the clan
• Larksong becomes Finpaws mentor, Sparkpelt becomes Twigpaws

Chapter Two

• Violetshine is gathering bedding for her clanmates
• She tells Tree to stop sunning himself and start helping, but Leafstar calls him over
• Tree decides that to find his place in the clan, he should try being a medicine cat
• Violetshine stands nearby while Frecklewish and Puddleshine argue; Tree steps in
• Violetshine goes on a patrol with Rowanclaw, Tawnypelt, and Hawkwing
• Rowanclaw and Tawnypelt are talking about if abandoning Shadowclan was right
