History

In the New Prophecy Series

Moonrise

Rock is one of the trio of cats who leaves their home, the Tribe of Rushing Water, in order to kill the deadly mountain lion who preys on them, Sharptooth. After failing, he is banished along with Bird and Talon, the other cats who have retreated from the Tribe to murder Sharptooth, until Sharptooth is killed. He later loses most of his tail due to Sharptooth's attempt to kill him.

Dawn

Rock is now back in the Tribe of Rushing Water because Sharptooth is killed. However, he is not listed in the allegiances of Outcast, suggesting that he had died a time between Dawn and Outcast or, like Jag, was killed by the intruders.

Trivia

• It is said in Moonrise that his name is Rock Where Snow Gathers, but that is changed in Dawn to Rock Beneath Still Water.
• Rock is mentioned as a black tom in Moonrise.
